Process in pictures - Proceso en imágenes

I often like to imagine what life is like on other worlds, what those planets and their inhabitants are like, but I also imagine that within this same planet there may be other species, on this same plane or perhaps on another.

Possibly they could have lived in another time before ours or they are hidden in some part of the planet that we don't know about. I often think about it, because there are indications that there could be more than the humans we see every day.

I've always been fascinated by elves, they might be real, in that case they wouldn't be human and that's very interesting to me. In this design I wanted to capture some of those thoughts and the imagination of what it might be like.

Design process

I made the design with 6 images and worked them in 18 layers in Photoshop.

For the background I used an image of a desolate planet and on that image I worked in several layers two images, one of another planet but with a lot of colours and the other one of a nebula. I changed scales and rotations, as well as the position.
The blending modes I used with those two images were darken, darker colour, focal light and soft light.

Then I worked on the two pyramid images, one as a succession of the other. In several of the layers used I erased a lot of the images to emphasise for example one of the pyramids. The blends used were: normal, strong light, lighten and strong light.

The image of the horse with the female elf alien, I worked on in two phases, one further away, in three layers with mergers of darken, lighten and soft light, previously erasing the background. Then I worked it closer focusing on the face of the alien. In this case I moved one of the layers to the right as a projection. In total I arranged the face in four layers with the fusions darken, hard light, raster and focus light.

The animation is done completely in After Effects, working on the opacity of each layer and adding lights in the form of clouds for better contrast.

Muchas veces me guata imaginar cómo es la vida en otros mundos, como serán esos planetas y como son sus habitantes. pero también imagino que dentro de este mismo planeta pueda haber otras especies, en este mismo plano o quizá en otro.

Posiblemente pudieron vivir en otro tiempo anterior al nuestro o están escondidos en alguna parte del planeta que desconocemos. Muchas veces pienso en ello, porque hay indicios de que podría haber más que nosotros los humanos que vemos todos los días.

Siempre me fascinaron los elfos, puede sean reales en ese caso no serían humanos y eso me resulta sumamente interesante. En este diseño quise plasmar algunos de esos pensamientos y la imaginación de cómo será todo ello.

Proceso del diseño

El diseño lo realicé con 6 imágenes y las trabajé en 18 capas en Photoshop.

Para el fondo usé una imagen de un planeta desolado y sobre esa imagen trabajé en varias capas dos imágenes, una de otro planeta, pero con mucho colores y obra de una nebulosa. Cambié escalas y rotaciones, además de la posición.
Los modos de fusión que use con esas dos imágenes fueron oscurecer, color más oscuro, luz focal y luz suave.

Posteriormente trabajé intercalándolas, las dos imágenes de pirámides, una como sucesión de la otra. En varias de las capas usadas borré mucho de las imágenes para hacer énfasis por ejemplo en una de las pirámides. Las fusiones usadas han sido: normal, luz fuerte, aclarar y luz fuerte.

La imagen del caballo con el alien elfo mujer, la trabajé en dos fases, una más alejada, en tres capas con fusiones de oscurecer, aclarar y luz suave, borrando previamente el fondo. Luego la trabaje más de cerca focalizando el rostro del alien. En este caso una de las capas la desplacé a la derecha como una proyección. En total dispuse el rostro en cuatro capas con fusiones oscurecer, luz fuerte, trama y luz focal.

La animación está realizada completamente en After Effects, trabajando la opacidad de cada capa y agregando luces en forma de nubes para un mejor contraste.
