I'm currently doing day 14 because my vitamin A(lcohol) deprived self decided to go TGIF with my best friend and this one day variance is off-putting to me.
I feel like lately my drawings don't look as good as they should... probably because I've been tired and maybe because I've been rushing them a lot. I wonder if I can take a break from something somewhere so that I can get a good mood back.
As of late, I've been living in the laboratory dorms and I'm hoping it would ease up a bit of my triggers because things have been a little rocky with my family lately.
Anyways I've gone black and white on this drawing again because that seems like the fastest for me to do right now given how busy I've gotten.
duration: 2.5 hours
materials: black ink, black pen, black and white gel pen, chalk
So it just looks like a cast of shadows right now because I wasn't sure how to highlight this one or if I should because I put it in a pretty dark setting with fog everywhere. Idk I had the option to do a more traditional castle but my brain wanted to do dark castle and now it's upset that we couldn't pull it off properly.
Though when I started on this, I was pretty confident it would look nice because I loved how the ink dried up when I saw it this morning
I love how thhe ink spread like this, though I did add a few darker layers when I started on this last night but idk it lightened up significantly... probably because I soaked the water in paper XD I did tract the darke spots though, and decided that those would be the base of my castle.
Then the build up after 4-ish minutes of sketching and going extremely light with my pen
But I tried something midway while working on this. I tried to put a sepia filter on it XD and I can't believe it looked this good! Like if I wasn't in such a dark mood the night before when I inked it, I would have thought of this because it gave my castle such a fairytale mood and I liked that.
Anyways, it's done and over with and maybe I'l just remake a sepia castle one of these days instead of brooding over this one.
Finishing it off, I used my trusty chalk to add in some highlights, some fog and that mysterious effect just to give it the dark castle vibes I wanted.
This concludes my drawing for today. I appreciate you guys stopping by! So that's day 14 out of the 31 days of inktober and I hope I can really keep this up without so much drastic delays because I'm almost halfway there!
Also, pray for my mental health because it has been going downhill lately and I kind of need all the boost I can get lately. See you guys on my next blog UwU and have a great day!
