Day 5... well day 5 was an interesting day XD I was looking for map reference but all i saw from my google search was how to make a map from rice, coins, tacks, beans, just random stuff so I think google wanted me to craft my own fantasy world or something, sadly I don't have much time to play world builder so here's me taking alternate routes again XD
The next thing I googled fo this day was pirate maps because you know how they're always rolled up in a sort of scroll form or they're just flat on a desk and I kind of wanted that aesthetic but I couldnt get a reference for the easthetic I wanted. And also because I really don't want to build a world because if I go with an actual map, I'll have to tie it with a story of sorts and who has the brain cells to write a story right now ;;-;;
I went to my last option and idea, message in a bottle. Cuz in cartoon shows you see treasure maps thrown to sea in a bottle so maybe I'll go with that. And that's exactly what I did.
Materials: Blue ink, blue, yellow, white and brown pens
Durtion: 2 hours since I went pure pen again and this didn't need a lot of details
For reference, this is the first time I've drawn a colored bottle so I wasn't expecting it to come out good UwU surprisingly it was okay, a bit of a story book kind of feels despite doing this with pens. It was a littlle hard to pull off that transparent feels when it comes to pens so that's another thing to practice after all of these prompts.
So this is where I started XD brown pen cuz I wasn't sure I could cover up blue if I used that as the base, much more yellow cuz then it would come out green on the overlay XD so brown kind of became my safe choice lately.
Then I started filling in colors that needed to be filled in, and I think aside from my day 4, this is one of my most colorful and brightly colored drawing palette so far XD I hope I decide to be more colorful in the following days, but let's see where my mood takes me
I couldn't take much progression shots of this one this time cuz I only worked on thiis for a few hours. I didn't need to take as many stops and breaks as the last few ones cuz I didn't really add a liquid ink layer anywhere aside from the base.
Day 5 completed! I'd love to hear what you think of this drawing! for tomorrow's prompt, I was going to go with something a little more divine. Dark but divine because the idea I have in my head already looks so good ;;w;; and I'm so excited to execute it!
