Day 6 and the streak is going pretty strong in comparison with my sketchtember XD This was the point wehre I was starting to skip days and I hope that doesn't happen on this inktober because I prepared for this more than I did with sketchtember. Plus that sketchtember practice really boosted my speed and skills depite the fact that I was so inconsistent with that one XD
I nnow question how people can do a full year art challenge or even the alphabet art challenge and 100 sketch challenge at this point cuz look at how inconsistent of an artist I am XD
Putting art challenges aside, For day 6, I thought of golden tears or golden blood because I was watching an anime where an alchemist killed a boy to turn his blood into gold and I really thought that was cool but my bf said to not get so brutal despite my love for gore because he wouldn't want to dream about that when he went to sleep XD so my other option was to go with golden tears because I've been following this artist that always gave her morbid characters a hint of gold and I really loved that.
Materials: Black ink, black and white gel pens, chalk
Duration: 3 hours because damn ink
Honestly, I love how this turned out. She doesn't look morbid and that gold ink contrasted so well with the black drawing. Yes, it was loossely based of a religious figure, but for art's sake I don't call this blasphemous.
I loved my progress on this as well
I was actually in a dilemma of doing this on all black paper or if it would be better to do selective inking again and I went with th latter cuz my chalk was not powerful enough to fill in the gaps that needed to ne white.
So here's how I built up the face. I was switching between 2 different black pens because I had one pen that had really faded ink and another that had really strong ink so that really gave everything a lot of depth
What I couldn't figure out was what to do with the neck, whether to give her a scarf or expose some skin... in the end, I iked that in too because I really dodn't want to think anymore XD
Inking the neck didn't come off as bad as I thought it would... When that part dried, I moved on to chalking the parts that should be porcelain smooth then I added a white ink layer to really give it that glow. I also put white ink on the gold streaks to give it a little bit more dimentionality... but I think it came out looking like pop art XD
That's it for today and for my day 6! I hope you liked this drawing UwU cuz I think this is one of my favourites so far. I love that contrast with the gold ink and I think I should do more of these drawings one day ;;w;;
