Today, I learned something new in editing using Adobe Photoshop. I explored how to make objects glow and emit light. Taking small steps, I started experimenting and applying these techniques to my artwork.
I have been wanting to make an artwork in this style, Light in the Dark, for a long time. But it's only now that I've started to learn some of these things. In this new year, I will try to explore things that I have never tried before.
This marks my first participation in Cosmic Creations, hosted by Alien Art Hive. For this challenge themed "REBIRTH," I created a story about a moonchild.
A new life is born from the core of the planet when the golden moon appears. This golden moon only emerges once every 280 years in a single night. When the full moon appears, the figure of the moon child is born alongside its small moon.
The creation process began with cutting out all the main objects using the Pen Tool. Although this is just the beginning, honestly, it's a process I find challenging because it requires patience to select points one by one to achieve a smooth result.
After the cutting process, the next step was placing the objects in their respective positions, a field of flowers in the background, the moon, and a mannequin in the foreground.
At this stage, I learned how to create a glowing effect on an object. Using the blur filter, I could make the moon shine. First, I duplicated the object to be affected, then changed the effect on the layer to "screen" to make the object brighter and slightly transparent. I applied a blur effect to make it look like it's glowing. I also implemented this process on the mannequin object with white-colored light.
To achieve the best result, I reduced the exposure to make the surrounding atmosphere darker, allowing the objects with the light effect to shine brighter.
Next, I added a bit of light effect to the small moon and the moon in the background using the brush tool and made slight adjustments to the previously applied exposure.
With a touch of mist effect, my artwork for this challenge is finally complete.
