Hello Alien Art Hive Community!
Meet me again in my blog! Today I'm really excited to share the latest design I've just finished.
Yesterday night, I created a design that I posted in the #LMAC community using green tones, and this time I'm bringing back that green vibe here. You know, when I find something I like, I tend to stick with it until I'm really bored.
This design depicts the darkness of a night on an island inhabited by black cats. One of them is chosen to embark on a space journey. In this shot, a UFO is getting ready to pick up the chosen one. Nobody knows where they go because it's the last time this chosen cat is seen, and the UFO never returns. In the dark of night, the other black cats can only watch from afar. Even though their fur blends with the night, their eyes shine in the darkness.
After taking a break from using cat images in some of my previous designs, this time I decided to incorporate them into my art.
I used images of black cats so they blend nicely when lit up. When using cats with brighter colors, they seem to be swallowed by the light.

Now, let's dive into the creation process.
The original materials I used in this design include: Cat, UFO, orange flower fields, and green grass. You can see the image sources I've listed below.
Initially, I just wanted to use green grass, but then I thought adding other colors could freshen up the design.
After cutting out the images, I arranged them in position and then added a black background that matched the cat's color. Next, I added Exposure to the UFO and the flower fields.
Lighting
I used the marquee tool to add color with the gradient tool. This way, the shapes weren't completely filled with color.
I duplicated the layer and changed it to screen mode, then add with a Gaussian blur effect. To make it brighter, I duplicated the layer two times until I got the desired lighting.
To make the lighting more convincing, I added light details to the UFO, cat, and grass using the multiply and screen layers together.
More Details
Now it's time to add details. I added details by creating glowing cat eyes using the brush tool with sizes 2 and 3 pixels, adding a mysterious touch to the night.
To create an atmospheric effect, I added fog effects using difference clouds.
Adjustments
Lastly, but equally important, I adjusted the colors to blend the lighting with the atmosphere. I used hue/saturation adjustments, curves adjustments, and vibrance to get better colors.
All processes were done using Adobe Photoshop
