Hello 🤗 I haven’t shared anything here for some time... Returning here now feels important, even if it comes after a longer pause than planned. Sharing this piece feels like a natural way to reconnect and begin posting again.
I created this oil painting in June last year. The work is titled A Floral Hideaway. It is oil on canvas, 40 × 50 cm.
This piece focuses on a calm and contained scene in nature, centered around a sense of shelter and closeness. While working on it, my intention was to create a composition that feels stable and quiet, without strong movement or dramatic contrast.
The figures are positioned close together, reinforcing the idea of protection and a shared space. The background was kept soft and unobtrusive so it wouldn’t compete with the main subjects. I used layered greens and muted tones to build depth while maintaining a balanced overall color palette.
The surrounding vegetation and flowers serve both a compositional and conceptual purpose, helping to frame the scene and suggest a hidden, protected environment.
I worked with oil paint to allow for gradual transitions and controlled layering. This approach gave me time to adjust forms and textures slowly, especially in areas where softness was important.
The size of the canvas allowed for enough detail without becoming overly complex, which helped maintain focus and clarity throughout the process.
This painting reflects an interest in quiet moments and natural relationships rather than action or narrative. The goal was to present a self-contained scene that feels complete without explanation.
