Hello to everyone in the Alien Art community! Today I bring you a new work in Pixel Art style. It is a fairly simple landscape as a form of exercise to start practicing with layers, color opacity and chromatic aberrations. So, as always, after finishing the image in the Pixel Studio application, I try to intervene the painting by means of filters and adjustments that alter its state. Here I tell you a little more about it, so join me.
¡Hola a todos en la comunidad de Alien Art! El día de hoy les traigo por acá un nuevo trabajo al estilo Pixel Art. Se trata de un paisaje bastante sencillo como una forma de ejercicio para empezar a practicar con capas, opacidad de colores y aberraciones cromáticas. Por lo que cómo siempre, busco que luego de finalizar la imagen en la aplicación Pixel Studio, me dedico a intervenir la pintura por medio de filtros y ajustes que alteren su estado. Aquí les cuento un poco más sobre ello, así que acompáñenme.
I decided to take as a reference one of Andrei Tarkovsky's films called 'The Mirror'. In one of the scenes you can see a landscape where there is a plain and forests in the distance but even more interesting, the contrast of colors I found quite beautiful. So I started with a first layer with violet, pink tones and white. With that I create the first spots, a scattered clouds.
Decidí tomar como referencia una de las películas de Andrei Tarkovsky llamada 'The Mirror'. En una de las escenas se puede observar un paisaje dónde hay una llanura y bosques a lo lejos pero aún más interesante, el contraste de colores me pareció bastante bonito. Por lo que comencé con una primera capa que lleva violeta, tonos rosas y blanco. Con eso creo las primeras manchas, una nubes dispersas.
Then, move to the next layer where is the area that has more detail. Originally it was two layers; in one was the farthest part of the forest and in the other you can see some of the trees that make up the forest. I used various shades of green, yellow and applied some ochre tones. I like to use the tool to subtract opacity to a tone because I can overlap it and the tone blends together with the other.
On this same layer, which is where the flatness is, use green, ochre and violet. In some areas where there are more shadows, place the shade of green that I use for the trees, shades of ocher and violet for the areas that receive more light and the reflection of the sky. The path is a mixture of red and yellow tones, just try to desaturate the tones.
Luego, pase a la siguiente capa dónde está la zona que lleva más detalle. Originalmente se trataba de dos capas; en una estaba la zona del bosque más lejana y en la otra se alcanzan a ver algunos de los árboles que conforman ese bosque. Utilice varios tonos de verde, amarillo y aplique un poco de tonos ocres. Me gusta utilizar la herramienta de restar opacidad a un tono porque puedo superponerlo y el tono se mezcla junto con el otro.
En esta misma capa, qué es donde está la llanura, utilice verde, ocre y violeta. En algunas zonas que hay más sombras, coloque el tono de verde que utilice para los árboles, tonos de ocre y violeta para las zonas que reciben más luz y el reflejo del cielo. El sendero que es una mezcla de tonos rojos y amarillos, solo busque desaturar los tonos.
Finally this is the original result, without intervention. I like the way it looks but I always like to work with applications like Polar that help me to achieve a different atmosphere and I can also add noise to give it texture, something that I can't achieve by myself in the Pixel Studio application. Some of the results of these modifications pleased me and others not so much but as always, I like to experiment and I see no problem in getting several results until I am satisfied.
Finalmente este es el resultado original, sin intervención. Me gusta como queda pero siempre me gusta trabajar con aplicaciones como Polar que me ayudan a lograr una atmósfera diferente además de poder colocar ruido para que tenga textura, cosa que no puedo lograr por sí misma en la aplicación de Pixel Studio. Algunos de los resultados de esas modificaciones me agradaron y otras no tanto pero como siempre, me gusta experimentar y no veo problema en obtener varios resultados hasta verme satisfecha.

I always do this kind of exercises that help me to get a more organic mix of colors because unfortunately, with digital painting, you can't get as much texture as you would like and resorting to some tricks is always viable. Ahora amigos míos, espero que les haya gustado este trabajo. Suelo hacer siempre este tipo de ejercicios que me ayudan a obtener una mezcla de colores más orgánica pues lamentable, con la pintura digital, no se puede obtener tan textura como se quisiera y recurrir a algunos trucos, siempre es viable.
