Ever get the feeling that life is a bit absurd? That sneaking suspicion that beneath the hubris and delusions of grandeur we're just another critter carrying on like critters do?
Does that seem a bit absurd? Imagine if the aliens were to finally show up for Henry Kissinger and stopped to observe us for a bit. How do you think they'd interpret our antics?
Luckily, we can be clever critters and don't have to wait on Kissinger to depart this planet to get some idea. With AI we have the first nonhuman observer that can 'learn' and after a fashion communicate with us. In other words, we accidentally created one hell of an anthropology experiment.
Probably accidentally created a lot more than just that but we'll figure that out soon enough. In the meantime I've been experimenting with MidJourney to see what it has been 'learning' from us and also what happens when it extrapolates from that.
Mainly so I can exploit that to make weird shit. With MidJourney I'm usually going for something that inspires a sense of unease or disquiet upon viewing, and the 'alien' perspective of the AI seems to lend itself well to this.
For best results, be vague. Well, maybe not vague but using words and concepts that lack a strong visual association seems best for getting interesting results. Also, mixing and matching unrelated words and concepts can get interesting fast. The image about was the result of the prompt catastrophic distaste.
Okay, maybe being absurd is best. Plundering control, justify your soul got me this and once I figure out what it is I'm looking at I'll be well on my way to figuring out what it says about humanity.
Or maybe not, maybe it's all just inversion of sanity propaganda.
That's got to be it. We're all trapped in discordant nightmare baby propaganda machinery! Does go a long way to explaining humanity...
