Hello to everyone who reads my blog!
I haven't been in this community for a long time, but I like it. I haven't shared my drawings for a long time.
Today I want to show you a portrait that I drew for my grandmother in watercolor.
I really like to draw in black and white style, I love black and white photos, there is something special about them.
I have been drawing this picture for a long time, so many photos have been lost.
But I still want to share it, because I love this drawing.
First I drew a light sketch with a simple pencil. Then I made the first layer of watercolor.
I always paint watercolors in layers.
You should never try to do all the details at once. Watercolors should breathe. Does it sound strange? I know.
There was a drawing on grandma's dress, it was some kind of flowers, an abstraction. I decided not to detail them and just smeared the area with the dress with water and put dots with watercolor, allowing it to spread.
It turned out well, I think.
And then there was a second layer of detail study. So Grandma started to have volume.
I finished the portrait with the third layer, drew all the small details, hair, eyes, eyebrows, lips. Added shadows that were missing.
I rarely paint with watercolors, it was a spontaneous decision.
