This is a page I would love to see animated someday. There's just so much personality and motion at work here that you can totally see this as a funny sequence in some kind of comedy horror anime.
This scene was just infused with joy for me, I laughed while writing it, and then Theresa imbued it with her fantastic style and I laughed a second time while watching it take shape on the page. I just love watching these two act silly as they bark up the wrong supernatural tree.
It's a theme I play with a lot in this story, although I confess I'm not entirely sure what I'm trying to say, haha. I just enjoy the comedic and dramatic tension that arises from these two characters being right that something spooky is going on, but they're completely and regularly wrong about the nature of said spooky thing.
Mookie and Ruth think nothing is going on, so Hazel and Margaret are sort of right, but also really wrong!
