An often striking feature of xenoarcheology is subject matter of early high-level sentient iconography. Quite often, when not depicting the species itself, the images are of the fauna and flora of the sentient species' world.
This image, from Tetre IX, a planet with no known surviving life forms, may be either. Detailed xenoarcheological work is needed to produce enough evidence to develop even a hypothesis in most cases (including this one).
The image is only visible with a powerful ultraviolet light source, and shows what appears to be a mammalian-type creature, with head to the right and large tail-like appendage on the left.
The stone block holding the image is stored in the Cluster Institutional Museum of Xenocontacts in Centauri A: https://www.voice.com/drwom
Thanks always and again to the awesomest talented for my very own Wombat footer! May all beings be as happy as these wombats!
