Hey! Hello my big family!
I continue to draw the characters that will appear in the next D&D campain. A friend of mine will play the Half-elf Bard character you see.
Before I drew it, my friend described the character. According to her description, 'He has blond hair that comes down to her shoulders, slightly wavy, has a bit of a big nose but beautiful lips and small dot-like eyes. He has thick eyebrows. He has a scar on one of his eyebrows. He ate a wooden pint on the head while escaping a bar fight. He scratched his eyebrow too. He wears a turquoise leader armor. He has a long golden cloak symbolizing his guild. He plays the lute in general, but he also has a flute on his back. He is carrying a very tiny dagger. I didn't draw the lut and the dagger, I just do the portraits of each character first because they will be used as the character's token when playing in roll20.
WORK IN PORGRESS
First of all, I collected pictures for bard from pinteres to get some inspiration. You can see those pictures right on the left side of this drawing above. The reference image is really very important in drawing. It really makes my job easier.
Many people think that referencing is just drawing the exact same picture, which is a really common mistake.
I especially change the direction of the picture I draw so that I can see the mistakes I have made more clearly.
I forgot the recipe my friend gave me and painted the jacket a dark color :D Then I remembered the recipe and changed the colors again. Changing the color does not take time while you are putting a simple color under the sketch layer.
I made the mistake of adding my background later, so I started to add other additions thinking about the character's interaction with the background. At this stage, my colors began to develop along with the background.
Maybe at this stage, I could accept the drawing as finished and leave it, but when I took a break from the twitch broadcast, when I looked at the drawing again, I did not like this drawing. It looks weird because of the wrong coloring on the face.
I completed this drawing during my twitch stream. It took about 5 hours in total and I used Photoshop.
Thank You
