When asked who likes colored pebbles, 99% of people do. Many people even collect them, like me. A big shoebox is full of them in my home! I also collect polished minerals. Whenever I go to a mineral fair, I always buy a few handstones. The watercolor below, on the other hand, I drew and painted entirely from imagination, with no photos or original stones on my desk. I wouldn't have had the space.
From the picture below it is not possible to tell what kind of stones, but they appear to be polished minerals. But they may just be wet sea or river pebbles, which become more vivid in color when exposed to water. Or they could be candies from another planet with different flavors. It would be great for Christmas! But if there are none, I'll make some!
The whole painting took me at least 3 hours of work, even though the paper was only A/5 size. But I enjoyed every moment of it, it was a real flow experience!
