Hola amigos, espero que se encuentren bien y creando obras muy creativas y geniales. Para el arte de esta semana, les quiero compartir un dibujo con una mezcla entre surrealismo y caricaturas (con un toque oscuro). El dibujo en cuestión es una especie de tótem con las cabezas de los personajes del famoso dibujo animado "Las aventuras de Silvestre y Piolín". Les muestro mi ilustración a continuación.

Hello friends, I hope you are well and creating very creative and great works. For this week's art, I want to share a drawing with a mix between surrealism and cartoons (with a dark touch). The drawing in question is a kind of totem with the heads of the characters from the famous cartoon "The Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries". I show you my illustration below.
En dicho tótem está la cabeza de Piolín, arriba la de Silvestre, y luego la de Héctor y la de la Abuelita (que son todos los personajes de la serie). Tuve cuidado de no ilustrar los personajes demasiado distorsionados; Quería que se notara que son ellos a primera vista. Digamos que no tiene un significado intrínseco, solo quería representar una imagen extraña, ilógica e irracional, como algo salido de un sueño raro.
Proceso
Siempre empiezo con la capa de líneas de contorno. En este caso, hice una para cada una de las cabezas y luego las arreglé de la forma que había imaginado. Aquí me divertí mucho delineando las cabezas de forma retorcida. A continuación les muestro como quedó la capa de líneas.
On said totem is Tweety's head, Sylvester's on top, and then Héctor's and Granny's (which are all the characters in the series). I was careful not to illustrate the characters too distorted; I wanted it to be noticed that it is them at first glance. Let's say it has no intrinsic meaning, I just wanted to represent a strange, illogical and irrational image, like something out of a weird dream.
Process
I always start with the contour lines layer. In this case, I made one for each of the heads and then arranged them the way I had envisioned. Here I had a lot of fun outlining the heads in a twisted way. Next I show you how the lines layer turned out.
Empecé a colorear las cabezas de Piolín y la Abuelita derretida. Los colores seleccionados están inspirados en los personajes originales. Por cierto, esos óvalos flotantes se basan en los ojos de Piolín. Luego procedí con el coloreado de Silvestre y Héctor (en ese orden, respectivamente). En las siguientes imágenes se puede ver el desarrollo de esta fase.
I started coloring the Tweety heads and the melted Granny. The selected colors are inspired by the original characters. By the way, those floating ovals are based on Tweety eyes. Then I proceeded with the coloring of Silvestre and Héctor (in that order, respectively). In the following images you can see the development of this phase.
Ahora agregué un montón de líneas por todo el dibujo, como rayones. Creo que le dio un toque sombrío. Luego oscurecí algunas zonas, esto con el fin de darle volumen a la ilustración. Este fue el resultado:
Now I added a bunch of lines all over the drawing, kind of like scratches. I think it gave it a somber touch. Then I darkened some areas, this in order to give volume to the illustration. This was the result:
Terminé agregando un fondo rojo con cuadrados distorsionados generados con Blender. El resultado es el de la imagen mostrada al principio de esta publicación. Puedes ver que Piolín está representado sin ojos y con un fondo rojo donde deberían estar. Silvestre hunde sus dientes en la cabeza de Piolín. Héctor es una masa amorfa. Y la cara de Abuelita se está derritiendo. Pueden interpretarlo como quieran.

I ended up adding a red background with distorted squares generated with Blender. The result is that of the image shown at the beginning of this publication. You can see that Tweety is depicted without eyes and with a red background where they should be. Sylvester sinks his teeth into Tweety's head. Hector is an amorphous mass. And Granny's face is melting. You can interpret it however you want.
