You may have already watched one of the movies that are currently getting a lot of attention. The movie 'Oppenheimer' by Director Christopher Nolan, but not many people may have seen the documentary 'To End All War: Oppenheimer & the Atomic Bomb' directed by Christopher Cassel, which depicts the life of the renowned physicist commonly known as the Father of the Atomic Bomb. The documentary was also released in July 2023.
Throughout its 87-minute duration, I experienced a mixture of conflicting emotions, including admiration, pity, anger, and disbelief. The documentary was very shocking, and some scenes reminded me a famous quote:
"Two things are infinite the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the universe"
I won't reveal much about it to avoid spoilers...but I highly recommend it, even before watching the film.
At one point, they display Oppenheimer's interview recordings in The Day After Trinity. He recalls how after the blast, he remembered the Hindu scriptures where Vishnu said: "Now, I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds." Oppenheimer also adds, "...I guess we all thought the same way, one way or another."

This sentence appeared to have great significance to me, especially his facial expression while saying it. As a result, I was motivated to draw him. Regrettably, I did not document the sketch during its initial stages 😣. Nevertheless, you can observe the changes up until its completion.

For the GIF, since the whole drawing was done in greyscale to be faithful to the scene, I used two colours to represent the explosion, when the yellow colour slides over his face, specifically on the bridge of his nose and his forehead, forming a kind of mushroom cloud in allusion to those formed during the nuclear explosions of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Puede que ya hayas visto una de las películas que de momento está llamando bastante la atención": Oppenheimer del Director Christopher Nolan; sin embargo, pocos quizás se hayan detenido en un documental To End All War: Oppenheimer & the Atomic Bomb donde su director Christopher Cassel narra la vida del afamado físico que se reconoce como el Padre de la Bomba Atómica y que fue estrenado igualmente en el mes de Julio.
Durante los 87 minutos que dura, pasé por un cúmulo de sensaciones conflictivas, desde la admiración, la lástima, la ira, la incredulidad... Ver el documental fue muy impactante y a cada rato, con algunas escenas, recordaba de forma recurrente una frase célebre atribuida a Einstein:
“Dos cosas son infinitas: la estupidez humana y el universo; y no estoy seguro de lo segundo".
No te cuento mucho más sobre esto para no hacer spoiler...pero te lo recomiendo tremendamente, incluso antes de ver la película.

Esta frase me pareció en extremo significativa, su rostro mientras lo decía... y de ahí me inspiré para dibujarle... por desgracia cuando comencé no hice capturas del boceto 😣 pero bueno, desde que me percaté hasta el final se notan las modificaciones...

Para el gif, como todo el dibujo fue hecho en escalas de grises para ser fiel a la escena, usé dos colores para representar el estallido, cuando el color amarillo, se desliza sobre su rostro, específicamente sobre el puente de la nariz y su frente se forma una especie de nube de hongo en alusión a las formadas durante las explosiones nucleares de Hiroshima y Nagasaki.
