Last day of October so that means this is my last chance to blog for Inktober! π I am happy that I made some couple art for this event. For the "prompt" fire, I was thinking of a campfire with the jumpsuit buddies.
Halloween is just a normal day for me. We do not really celebrate it like Christmas. I just got back from the cemetery and gave flowers to our loved ones who are now with our creator.
Okay~ Let's start the art process and a little bit of horror story. I already shared this story on our platform and might as well share it here on Hive.
Art Process
I first sketched the idea using a different color of pen. The friends are surrounding the bonfire. I added a blanket and cocoa for Jijisaur. I then used a solid brush for the lineart.
This happened when I was still in school. I grew up in a very logical household, so I do not really believe in ghosts, elementals, etc. We were taught that these things are meant to scare children.
I then applied the base colors on each character with a separate folder so that it would be easy for me to find the layers. I then clipped another layer on top to add the details such as the spots and blush. Next, I picked a dark purple for the ground and added some grass. The bonfire is easy to make. I just searched for a bonfire from Pinterest. Next, add the shadowing by using the multiply mode.
I remember it was a gloomy day because it was the wet season. That day, my cousin will sleep in our house because she has an examination, and the place is near to our house. She had a separate room upstairs so that she could review peacefully. On a normal day, she is always at home first before me because I have a night class. If I had spare time, my friends and I eat at our favorite spot.
I arrived home around 8 p.m. I was so tired that I forgot to ask the caretaker if my cousin was already at home. I took a shower and scrolled a bit to make me feel sleepy. Few minutes and I felt tired already. I put down my phone and closed my eyes. I wasn't 100 percent asleep yet so I know that I was not dreaming. And then, I heard three faint knocks on my door.
Final Art
Added some glowing details like the stars, fireflies, and the fire. This is a nice contrast to the dark background. Added more grass with different shades of blue. Lastly, added some noise monochrome. Finished art~ π
Hold on. Why is my cousin knocking on my door? I was so tired that I pretended that I was asleep. We had a caretaker she could ask if she needed something.
Morning came. I went downstairs to eat my breakfast. I went on and asked the caretaker what time did my cousin arrive last night. The caretaker said she was not at home last night.
HOLY FUCK. HOLY FUCK. Who tf knocked at my door last night? I got goosebumps all over. I am super sure that I was not imagining or dreaming because I was so annoyed by people knocking at that hour. Good thing no ghost shit happened.
I wonder if ever I opened the door.
At school, I can't help but tell my classmates what happened last night. One of them told me that three faint knocks mean the devil. FUCK. What did I do with the devil now? π
IDK, but it is a weird experience for me. Still, I never believed in them. But hey, there is nothing wrong with believing on ghosts as long as you are not hurting anyone, right?
Thank you for reading! π₯³π Happy Halloween!
