Hello, everyone! I hope you are enjoying the day. Today is sunny and bright but I bet it will rain hard in the afternoon. It is always the case here where I live. I woke up early today and decided to cook a heavy breaky for the fam. We love those fried eggs and spam! Yum. 😋 We were supposed to have a walk but the sun is scorching hot, so yah, canceled!
So, for this week's card, I chose Flame Imp.
Thank God my overly-religious aunt is not on Hive or else she will call me out as a follower of Satan. 😆 Anyway~
Art Process
The 3D chibi model downloaded from the Asset store saved me a lot of time when it comes to poses. I was thinking of the Flame Imp in a flying position with the arms stretched out. I bought the 3D chibi model for 10 Clippy points and now I can say that I am really happy I bought it. 😆 The major additions to the body are the horns, wings, and tail. I sketched them using a soft brush, then did the lineart using a solid pencil.
I tried to color-pick the red color from the original card but oh, God... My eyes are hurting. It is too much saturation. So I lowered the saturation by choosing the red below from the original one. I picked another shade of red for the wings, horns, and inner of the ear. The sclera was an undertone of red, iris a dull yellow, and pupil is just black. I put some highlights on the eyes and wings too.
Shading using airbrush specifically on the edges. I like how I shaded on the groin part, looks like he has a tiny belly, hehe. The hooves too are so tiny ugh, so cute! Haha I feel weird when I overly simp my own art. 😆 The glow over the shading made it really popped! Aside from the highlights, I added another layer on top for a hard highlight, just little circles on top of the highlight.
Final Art
I copy and pasted all the layers and put them in one folder. I then merged them all and enlarged it for the background. I added a shadow too for the character.
Tadaaa finished art! 👺
