I've spent part of Christmas day sitting in front of my PC (actually I always spend part of any day in front of my PC) but well... What I want to say is that today I spent a few hours transforming a photograph into something I imagine... This time I used one of my "spider" macro photos...

He pasado parte del día de Navidad sentado en frente de mi PC (en realidad siempre paso parte de cualquier día frente de mi PC) pero bien... Lo que quiero decir es que hoy invertí algunas horas en trasnformar una fotografía hasta llevarla a algo que imagino... Esta vez usé una de mis fotos macro de una "araña"...
⬆ This is the finished work and I have called it: "Alien through a portal" because I feel that it is like observing an inhabitant of another galaxy communicating through an open portal in space-time... Here below are details about the process for I will reach this final stage in the transformed photo.
Esta es la obra terminada y la he llamado: "Alien a través del portal" porque siento que es como observar a un habitante de otra galaxia comunicándose a través de un portal abierto en el espacio-tiempo... Aquí abajo hay detalles del proceso para llegare hasta esta etapa final de la foto trasformada.
⬆ All started here, with this photo of a lovely spider on a flower, taken by me in my garden at home... But, to be honest, seeing that spider, what other than an "Alien" could I have thought? ...
Todo comenzó con esta foto de una encantadora araña en una flor, hecha por mi en el jardín de mi casa... Pero, para ser honestos, viendo a esa araña ¿Que en otra cosa que no fuese un "Alien" podría haber pensado?...
⬆ As usual, I did all the processing in Photoshop and started by distorting the image at will using blending brushes and a pinwheel, I also increased the central area of the image (what would be the "face" of the spider)...
Como siempre, realicé toro el proceso en Photoshop y comencé distorsionando la imagen a placer usando brochas de licuado y molinete, también aumenté el área central de la imagen (lo que sería el "rostro" de la araña)...
⬆ I added color wide brush strokes and splatters around the edges of the image and distorted it using a zoom filter blur, this gave that "depth" feeling I wanted... After all the portal is a singularity of space! -gravitational!...Things have to look like they're going to hell over there!... 😵💫
Agregué trazos de color con pinceleas anchos y salpicado en torno a los bordes de la imagen y la distorsioné usando un filtro de zoom difuminado, esto generó esa sensación de "profundidad" que deseaba... ¡Después de todo el portal es una singularidad espacio-gravitacional!... ¡Las cosas tienen que verse como que se están yendo al carajo por allí!... 😵💫
⬆ I have distorted the image a bit more and created a "clean" layer and another layer with "oil painting effect".
He distorsionado un poco más la imagen y cree una capa "limpia" y otra capa con "efecto pintura al oleo".
⬆ I needed something that would give the feeling of "a signal being transmitted from far away in the galaxy", so I used a "concentric ripples" filter and scaled the frequency relatively high (this on top of the oil painting effect layer).
Necesitaba algo que generase la sensación de "una señal transmitida desde un lugar lejano en la galaxia", así que usé un filtro de "hondas concéntricas" y gradué la frecuencia a un nivel relativamente alto (esto sobre la capa del efecto pintura al oleo
⬆ I merged the "clean" layer together with the "Oil effect and concentric waves" and further distorted certain areas (this step helped me to "recover the face" of my alien 👽)... I also straightened the horizon of the image a bit because it had veered to the right due to pinwheel distortion processes.
Fusioné la capa "limpia" junto con la "Efecto oleo y hondas concéntricas" y distorsioné aún más ciertas áreas (este paso me sirvió para "recuperar el rostro" de mi alienígena 👽)... También enderecé un poco el horizonte de la imagen pues se había girado a la derecha debido a los procesos de distorsión en molinetes.
⬆ Adjusting some lights, contrasts and colors, I got a very interesting and beautiful layer, which I was about to select as the final result... But... damn... Some chaos was needed in this work!... So the following occurred to me...
Ajustando algunas luces, contrastes y colores, obtube una capa bastante interesante y bonita, la cual estuve a punto de seleccionar como resultado final... Pero... carajo... ¡Hacía falta algo de caos en este trabajo!... Así que se me ocurrió lo siguiente...
⬆ I took a photo of "bubbles and foam in the water" from my files and cropped it, blended it, expanded it and... Voila!... A layer of "instant chaos"... 😵💫
Tomé de mis archivos una foto de "burbujas y espuma en el agua" y la recorté, la mezcle, la expandí y... ¡Listo!... ¡Una capa de "caos" instantánea"... 😵💫
⬆ I added a black frame by 25% expansion to the image and blended it with the "foaming chaos layer", then I "expanded" the edges of the image with blender brushes and the like...
Agregué una marco negro par un 25% de expansión a la imagen y la mezclé con la "capa de caos espumante", después me dediqué a "expandir" los bordes de la imagen con brochas de licuado y otras similares...
⬆ A bit of contrast, some vignetting... And that's how I was able to have my dear alien friend transmitting his "happy holiday greeting" through an interdimensional portal... 🌌
Un poco de contraste, algo de viñeteado... Y así fue como pude tener a mi querido amigo alienígena transmitiendo a través de un portal inter-dimensional su "saludo de felices fiestas"... 🌌
