The seabed lit up in golden tones. The occasion this day was not joyful. All inhabitants loved Delphia. The commemoration services were about to begin. Delphia lay peacefully. Outward signs of the pain she suffered were visible. Word spread of the event. Family near and far heard and were in attendance. The elders placed a memory shell with her image on the council's recognition board. The words "Good deed are rewarded in the afterlife" were etched into her plaque.
Farewell Delphia.

But let's not talk of such unpleasantness. We're here to acknowledge Delphia's "good deeds". When tragedies occur, some creatures of the depths find unique ways to survive. Yes, Delphia lost her life. However, she saved her species. She lost her fight against the carelessness of humans polluting her world. In other words, she cared.
Two months ago, the seabed was abuzz with a flurry of activity. Sirens alerted everyone that danger was approaching. Delphia rushed to her sister's side. She commanded her to gather all elders and children and embark on a journey that would take them to safety. She didn't have time to explain further.
Ambrysia, two years her junior, resisted. Always stubborn and not wanting to be left out, she pouted, "why do you always get to have fabulous adventures? I'll bet there will be a party with guys!"
Exasperated, Delphia shook her head. She glanced at her time piece, then looked over her shoulder. The royal guards stood ready to escort her royal members and others to safety. Delphia placed her hand over her sisters mouth, then hugged her tightly. She kissed her forehead and promised to return.
This was a sign to Ambrysia that the situation was dire. She immediately turned and followed the guards as commanded.
Centuries ago, a hidden cove weaved with special protective outer and inner shields was specifically constructed for shelter in place emergencies. Once Ambrysia reached a young adult, she studied and memorized the safety procedures. Once the danger had passed, the security detail would arrive and take them home.
Her older sister, the bravest female she knew, was enlisted in the security detail. She was proud of her. She waited, confident her best friend and protector, since their parents died, would come for her.
But Delphia never returned.
Ambrysia heard the news of the toxic spill. She knew the heightened dangers. Word came of Delphia's demise.
However, her sister's death was not in vain. Delphia's body was taken the elders to preserve. But most importantly, she had already given permission to donate it to science. She knew that studies on the effects of pollution on their underworld environment was crucial to their current and future existence.
Grateful for her sister that she herself only sustained slight injuries from inhaling the toxic chemicals, Ambrysia, although grieving, decided to celebrate her in a unique way.
She gathered all the mermaids in their sector. She assisted in the decorations of the sea bed. She invited guests to commemorate the bravery of her sister who saved their world from complete destruction.
Ambrysia adorned her lavish beaded gown. It flowed effortlessly as the brown gemstones sparkled. The dress matched her lovely golden hair. It had darkened through the years from the changes near the surface water. Although the dress was a special gift for her wedding, she felt her sister's death a worthy cause that warranted the extravagance. Earrings from her suitor. She frantically searched for the necklace. Stored safely in the treasure chest that was their mother's, she was relieved it had escaped damage. The fireflies of the ocean visited. They attached themselves to her gown.
The fire lights were hundreds that lined the council area. Silence fell over the crowd. The elders extended their hands. Ambrysia stepped to the podium. She knelt at the edge of her sister's chamber and prayed. She rose. She rose with a new understanding of what she must now do.
How elegantly Ambrysia represented her sister, both in dress and speech.
Welcome back to another of my fractal projects. For this current project, I created an awesome generative art piece from Wombo Art. I utilized the following text input to retrieve my vision of an elegant mermaid. I needed this mermaid's her dress and colors to be different from the previous one so that I could enhance the look.
Below are my steps:
Text input:
Mermaid in brown with bulging eyes

Utilizing Canva, I was able to blend the fractals and the Wombo Dream. In this project, I utilized the dream as a background for my fractals. I decided not to enhance the mermaid image. I feel my fractals enhanced the the Wombo Dream art piece. I especially like the earrings and the wings.
