THE VOLCANO : A Digital Drawing Project

This week for my digital drawing project, I wanted to create a dramatic scene. The ocean turned into a receptacle for a volcanic eruption in the mountains.

I wanted to include in my drawing dark clouds in the background. I added a large peaked mountain. From the mountain I wanted the sky to look as if it was burning. Trees below gave the landscape some shade.

For the water, I wanted a waterfall effect to make it seem as though liquid was flowing from a distance. I also included some rocks along the shoreline.

I created this drawing using using the software, Nvidia GauGAN. The software generates an realistic image from your brushstrokes you place on a blank canvas.

From there, you add various features. Some of the features I work with every day are buildings, grounds, landscapes, such as clouds, skies, rivers, seas, rocks, and water. The plants and flowers work well in this program.

Nvidia Gaugan is a wonderful tool for producing digital art.

I start with a blank canvas:

Next, I add the various elements mentioned above to produce my brushstrokes. Below is the image of my basic brush strokes for the winter scene.

Once you're satisfied with your drawing, save your image.
