Hello everyone, hope you are fine.Thank you for your continued support. I finally managed to finish a 3D art work I was lazy to finish from October last year.
I used Blender for modelling the dino like creature and then textured it in Quixel Mixer, nothing fancy, just a single texture.
Then I thought of rendering it as it is in Blender but didn't like the look. Then I thought it would look good against the backdrop of my Baba Yaga render in Unreal Engine. I tried it but it was looking too dark and I didn't really want to mess with the lighting of that scene.
I finally decided to go back to Blender and tried out the geometry node for the first time. I added the trees and shrubs with the sapling tree add on (built-in add-on). Things looked alright and I added volumetric lights and shadows look to the scene. Tried different combinations there too. And rendered the video only with one setting, in Eevee. Here are some images from my workflow.
Here are a few renders :
Cycles render - I have to further reduce the density of the volume or it renders the fog too thick
Eevee render with depth of field turned on
Eevee render with volumetric lights on and vol. shadows off.
Another view.
Here's the final video render :
Hope you liked the renders, see you in the next one!
