Continued from here.
Behold the ancient wood elves, the Hunari beings,
The gentlest and wisest amongst all the beings in the Southern Forest,
With an unmatched countenance they protect the Forest,
From the ruthless evil which hunts for fun when it is not in the dark,
With skin as dark as the leaves of the Tempin tree and as thick and strong as its bark,
With eyes as deep as the oceans and as reflective as the waters in them,
Rightly have they been considered the Forest's gem;
There is no one in the Forest, except one, who does not to them bow,
Is that 'one', finally forcing out the Rune Bow?
They have been on the planet Hamruia for as long as anyone can deduce and have long been considered the keepers of the Southern Forest. Some even wonder whether they are 'of' the Forest. They are quite reclusive beings, coming to the forefront only when required. Nobody really knows their life span too; they seem to die only in combat.
Since the Forest has been quite dark for the past millennium, their pupils have become fixed and dilated, this gives them the keenest eyesight of any animal on the planet. Their large ears can detect even the minutest of clicks a mile away.
They understand the cycle of life and the need for a predator to kill other animals in order to survive but they have intervened before when the evil more ancient than them started killing for pleasure.
They had brokered a transient peace deal with the evil Aunimi around a 1000 years ago. The evil Aunimi had really agreed because he couldn't hunt in the dark of the Forest. The planet had started shifting its axis now as the binary stars, around which the planet was orbiting, were dancing to a different tune now. There was light now in the Forest and Aunimi sensed this and is waiting for his chance to come out of his cave in the Northern Reaches.
The Hunari, as always, are ready for battle. They have their Rune Bows at the ready. The bows don’t really injure Aunimi physically but the runes on the bows emanate a strong magic, imbuing any arrow fired from the bows with the same magic.
The Katra Bow can in fact be used only by the strongest of the Hunari, for it has to be bent while being strung and not every Hunari can do that. Aunimi seems to be stopped only by this magic. He is far too strong and huge to be physically injured by other beings on Hamruia.
As a matter of fact, Aunimi was gentle for a long time, as gentle as a predator can be. Perhaps the Hunari beings know why he went rogue and started killing for sport and not to satisfy his hunger.

Hello everyone, hope you are all doing fine. Thank you all for your wonderful continued support :).
I have continued my 'Forest Chronicles' here with a brief intro of the Hunari and their weapon of choice. My next post will probably be about the process and steps of making the art used in this post. All the art in this post is made by me, NOT AI generated. All the writing is mine too. Thanks for reading :). Any comments or feedback are always welcome. See you in the next one!
