Now I think of your beauty-
The signal to aesthetic communion which
Caressing my cheeks with your petals,
Inscribes a promise of sperm-egg fusion;
With whispers so softly that tickle
Your tales of sexual selection.
Playful and bright you found me in the morning,
Bushy tailed and unwashed
Cocooned in a cloud of pheromones,
Heard your voice ring clear in the air:
“Come hither, my flying lover
Enjoy my flowers and pollen that I’m eager,
To spread myself in molecular bliss,
Across fields in electric blossoms,
Thrusting my face to the sky,
Calling your name in the night,
Adore me!
Worship me!
Neotenous child of light.”
For leafy caresses we live,
Their photosynthetic pleasures.
On dunes that littered the sand,
Coated in moist and slippery membranes,
Crawled to all niches across the land.
Onto soft mossy beds on the rocks;
Sprouted wings to regain what was lost,
Hurled ourselves through the aerial ether,
Where messangers carried codes in the air
Detailed blueprints writ on our skin,
A manual for this interspecies affair.
Your colours, aromas, and textures are beacons,
Pupils dilated admiring your form,
Your biological lattice,
Unraveling
The Webs of life stirring that
In the bright early morn,
Bloomed its perfumed enchantments,
Elixirs and chemical bonds.
“Lover, lift me to heaven!
Ecstatic in our double-helix embrace,
To spread our complexity in heavenly abodes
Away from this gravity well.”
And I my sweet vegetable lady
Shall mammal you a highway to heaven.
No longer exiles on land,
Our pause here is a but a brief moment in time
And space
As we jump from one sea to the next.
Of all biomass on this world and terrain,
On land you have conquered the realms,
From seedling to flowering queen,
Over three quarters to reign.
Goddess scattered in seed,
For you, sweet maiden, I toil
Deliver the package in haste,
Across all your fertile soils.
“And you, my virile seed carrier,
Who seeks a new ocean of life
Donned wings to reach me in the garden,
Seduced by that distant song,
Eros and lust-
The force leading us closer to the pink center,
Beyond the event horizon
In the middle stretching it whole."
Woven silky tapestries tell our tale of old,
The intimate smiles and stares.
Days and nights in soft satin entangled,
Adrift in a vacuum of love.
Joyfully seeking new mysteries to explore,
The pages of a phylogenetic romance-
Continuous unceasing unending,
Across the universe we flow,
A dyadic affair and dance,
Yesterday
Today
And tomorrow.
