I realized how much I love coffee the other day. There are many other people out there who love coffee, who like talking about coffee, and enjoy looking at pictures of coffee. Some say we’re addicted to the lively bean. It's seductive dark power. Coffee is a multi-billion dollar industry, all geared towards stimulating the mind of those who imbibe such a fine, if bitter, drink. Wouldn’t it be something, I told myself, if I used my natural typing talents to prod the AI into making some coffee art that will delight everyone, including critics of AI art.
Now, I enjoy simplicity and don’t like to complicate matters too much, so in my prompts, I try to achieve simplicity. That is better said than done because things can quickly go off the rails, and if you asked me to recreate my procedures, you'll have better luck milking a bull.
I began by requesting my AI little helper to create a cup of coffee with a café atmosphere in the background. I added a few words for specific techniques and renderings. Innocent enough. Next thing I knew, I was asking for surreal cups, Dali women, Picasso mayhem, and even Andy Warhol made an appearance. Stream of consciousness prompting. So here are the results of these techno-artistic endeavors. I hope you enjoy them!
Salvador Dali
Muy perfecto! 😆
Bewitching
As you can see in the images, the woman has a vague resemblance to Dali because I added his name to the prompt.
I assure you that the image with the lady bits was not my idea. Only showing it to you was my idea. 😁
I used a macro-lens effect to get a focused/unfocused scene. Later I removed it then added it again, then I hacked and slashed the prompt, turned dials, pulled levers, and released steam. I deleted many images to generate and discover the ones that I thought were intriguing enough to share.
Who is this mysterious lady, and why am I oddly attracted to her?
Van Gogh
I then began to get all fancy and decided to try to generate an image of Van Gogh’s famous Starry Night.
Not bad, but I really mangled the prompt with this one. I had to revert several steps to get it back to the style I was digging before.
Monet
Monet didn't work so well, and I wasted a lot of time trying to get it right. Then voila! Magic happened.
Wow! This one blew me away. An AI-generated Monet-style painting of coffee cups inside a coffee cup? Astounding! As far as I know, Monet did not paint coffee cups in this manner, so this work of art is completely original. Now ask yourself this: is the world ready for coffee cups inside coffee cups?
Andy Warhol
It's time for something completely different.
I call this piece Coumboll Coffee Coffee Coffee
Oh yes, an AI just out-Warholed Andy Warhol. We're reaching art levels never thought possible before, and it's all happening right here, live and uncensored.
Picasso
Picasso was another prompt that gave me trouble. SD did not want to draw a Picasso image on the surface of the coffee. Instead, the images appeared on the side of the cup.
Notice the shadows of the left image. Remind you of something? Interestingly, while SD did not draw Picasso images on the coffee itself, it created scenes that were Picassonian in composition and appear to simulate the artist's general abstract modernist style.
Leonardo Da Vinci
Now for the grand finale. The master himself in all his foamy glory. Leonardo Da Vinci.
Yes!
