| Encouraged by my recent introductory post, I decided to jump straight into my first creative contribution. Through my research, I’ve learned that consistency is key here. To start "polishing" my technique and getting back into the rhythm of drawing, I chose to illustrate Obsidian, the monumental fusion of the five Crystal Gems from Steven Universe. | Animado por mi reciente publicación de presentación, decidí lanzarme directamente a mi primera contribución creativa. - The Sketch / El Boceto
English: I started with a light pencil sketch in my notebook. Since I am reintegrating into the art world, I wanted to focus on getting the proportions and the dynamic flow of the hair right.
Español: Comencé con un boceto ligero a lápiz en mi cuaderno. Como me estoy reintegrando al mundo del arte, quería concentrarme en lograr las proporciones y el flujo dinámico del cabello.
- Lineart / Entintado
English: For the lineart, I used black markers. It was a bit of a challenge because my markers are somewhat dry due to lack of use, but I managed to get clean lines to define the character's silhouette and her massive sword.
Español: Para el entintado, usé marcadores negros. Fue un pequeño reto porque mis marcadores están algo secos por la falta de uso, pero logré obtener líneas limpias para definir la silueta del personaje y su enorme espada.
- Color Application / Aplicación de Color
English: This was the most complex part. I currently don't have my colored pencils, so I used what was available. I applied pure red for the hair textures and yellow to simulate the glowing heat of the magma and the luminosity of the sword. I look forward to upgrading my materials soon to create even more vibrant pieces!
Español: Esta fue la parte más compleja. Actualmente no tengo mis colores, así que usé lo que tenía disponible. Apliqué rojo puro para las texturas del cabello y amarillo para simular el calor brillante del magma y la luminosidad de la espada. ¡Espero mejorar mis materiales pronto para crear piezas aún más vibrantes!

I’ve been exploring the Alien Art community and I’m inspired by the incredible talent there. My goal is to keep practicing in this sketchbook until I can transition to digital art, which has always been my dream. I hope you enjoy this simple but heartfelt piece.
