This time, I immersed myself in the universe of The Walking Dead and decided to recreate an iconic scene that, I admit, marked me deeply. It's about the moment when Negan has Rick's group threatened, aiming his dreaded Lucille bat at them. For those who know the series, you will understand the intensity of that moment and how every detail counts.
I confess that scene had such an impact on me that, for a while, I had to step away from the series. The thought of seeing one of my favorite characters, Glenn, in such an extreme situation was too much for me. It was a few years of TV hiatus!
But since art has the wonderful ability to transform experiences, I decided to channel those emotions into this piece. I opted to put a unique twist on The Simpsons style, adding a touch of humor and lightness to such an intense scene. I found the contrast between the two worlds, the drama of The Walking Dead and the comedy of The Simpsons, fascinating to explore.
The creative process was exciting. I tried to capture every detail, from Negan's facial expression to the iconic Lucille bat. I hope that when you see the play, you will experience that mix of emotions that I felt when creating it.

En esta ocasión, me sumergí en el universo de The Walking Dead y decidí recrear una escena icónica que, admito, me marcó profundamente. Se trata del momento en que Negan tiene al grupo de Rick amenazado, apuntándoles con su temido bate Lucille. Para quienes conocen la serie, entenderán la intensidad de ese momento y cómo cada detalle cuenta.
Confieso que esa escena me impactó tanto que, por un tiempo, tuve que alejarme de la serie. La idea de ver a uno de mis personajes favoritos, Glenn, en una situación tan extrema fue demasiado para mí. ¡Fueron unos cuantos años de hiatus televisivo!
Pero como el arte tiene la maravillosa capacidad de transformar experiencias, decidí canalizar esas emociones en esta obra. Opté por darle un giro único al estilo de Los Simpsons, agregando un toque de humor y ligereza a una escena tan intensa. El contraste entre los dos mundos, el dramatismo de The Walking Dead y la comedia de Los Simpsons, me pareció fascinante de explorar.
El proceso creativo fue apasionante. Traté de capturar cada detalle, desde la expresión facial de Negan hasta el icónico bate Lucille. Espero que al ver la obra, experimenten esa mezcla de emociones que yo sentí al crearla.

Diving into the creation of this fan art was a fascinating emotional and artistic journey. I began with a meticulous sketch, seeking to capture the essence of The Walking Dead's shocking scene in the distinctive Simpsons style. The challenge lay in merging dramatic intensity with cartoonish simplicity.
The sketch became the backbone of the piece, establishing the character's position, facial expression and key elements, such as the Lucille bat. During this phase, I sought to balance fidelity to the original scene with Simpsons-style reinterpretation.
With the sketch as a guide, I moved into outlining. Here, each line became important, defining the character's outline and highlighting the characteristic features. The goal was to maintain the fluidity and vitality of the Simpsons style, while bringing to life the crucial moments of The Walking Dead scene.
Coloring was a key step in infusing life and personality into the fan art. I dove into The Simpsons' vibrant color palette, making sure each shade contributed to the overall atmosphere. Choosing colors to highlight the facial expression and details of the bat added layers of depth to the composition.
Then, it was time to apply shadows and highlights. This is where the scene came to three-dimensional life. I experimented with different tonalities to create realistic shadows, paying special attention to the dramatic lighting that The Walking Dead is known for. Carefully placed shimmers added highlights that brought out key elements, such as the characters' eyes and the reflection in the bat.
Each step was an opportunity to merge two distinct worlds, bringing with it my personal experience with The Walking Dead and the comedic essence of The Simpsons. The creation process was not only technical, but also an introspective journey where channeling my emotions through art proved to be cathartic and, at the same time, full of creative joy.
