"Awakening": The Power of Changes [NFT] | [EN-ESP]

Hello, my dear Hiver ;)

After so many ups and downs that i had during these weeks, i could finally finish another of my designs or rather another of my oracular cards where I project and drain my strengths and weaknesses, my sack full of stress and impotence... It is practically the second part of the previous one called "Rooted". In this one i show a little more of the inner of that human being submitted to extreme circumstances, of how that frustration and brutal collapse of his vital energy, of his will, of his identity can become an explosion of wisdom, of strength and power, it is almost a totemic symbol.

As in the previous work, i decided that i would focus on those murky emotional states, on that tense and stressful body language, but even though he is cloaked in shadows, he is able to project a state of consciousness that will allow him to wake up, to go through those changes like a master.

Main Figures

As always, i started looking for photo references that would serve as a base to create something that i honestly didn't even know how i was going to end up. I had only three things in mind:

• To continue with a figure that showed the human being in the midst of crisis.
• To pretend it to be a series of designs that only start from those dense states of the mind and the soul.
• And of course, eyes everywhere.
  I have an obsession with eyes, those who know me know that they are part of my style, but it is much more than that. I feel that with this element i can express both the light and darkness of any creature without so much pretension.

Textures

Once i have selected my main group of figures, it is the turn of the textures. This moment usually brings back childhood memories. Although almost everything starts from those strange and nostalgic moments. When we are children we usually love to find shapes everywhere, on the walls, in the clouds... That's exactly what i look for when i explore reference images, nature always offers me just what i need. Obviously in the end i like to exaggerate such textures, the idea is to achieve shapes or scenarios completely different from the base image.

Background | Lights

Again nature offers me the best option to achieve certain light effects, this time i only used a single image, the rest i would leave to the brushes and blending modes.

When i finally have the possible images selected, the stage of editing and cleaning up the image i consider the main one and putting the puzzle together begins. The textures are usually the last part, during the initial process, these images are the last on my search list. As i mentioned before, for some reason i like to desaturate almost all the photos, i love to start from a canvas with gray bases, probably because that's how i started in traditional art, everything was graphite, i feel comfortable seeing everything in gray, in the end it becomes even philosophical. I try to avoid using filters, there is no concrete reason why, i'm just not a big fan of them and i prefer to experiment with textures, blurs and fusions. Another obsession of mine when i design is symmetry, i don't know why, but i constantly need to duplicate or multiply certain elements to stay still. I love the surprise effect of this process because i never know how it will turn out, now that i assimilate it better... it has that totemic look and feel that i love.

Después de tantos altibajos que tuve durante estas semanas, finalmente pude terminar otro de mis diseños o mas bien otra de mis cartas oraculares donde proyecto y dreno mis fortalezas y debilidades, mi saco lleno de estrés e impotencia... Es prácticamente la segunda parte del anterior llamado "Rooted" o "Arraigo". En este muestro un poco mas del interior de aquel ser humano sometido a circunstancias extremas, de como aquella frustración y colapso brutal de su energía vital, de su voluntad, de su identidad pueden convertirse en una explosión de sabiduría, de fuerza y poder, es casi un símbolo totémico.

Como en la obra anterior, decidí que me enfocaría en esos estados emocionales turbios, en ese lenguaje corporal tenso y lleno de estrés, pero aunque estando acobijado de sombras es capaz de proyectar un estado de conciencia que le permitirá despertar, atravesar esos cambios como todo un maestro.

Figuras Principales

Como siempre, comencé buscando referencias fotográficas que me sirvieran como base para crear algo que sinceramente ni yo misma sabia cómo iba a terminar. Tenia claro solo tres cosas:

• Continuar con una figura que mostrase al ser humano en medio de crisis
• Pretender que sea como una serie de diseños que solo partan desde esos estados densos de la mente y el alma
• Y por supuesto, ojos por todos lados.
  Tengo una obsesión con los ojos, los que me conocen saben que son parte de mi estilo, pero es mucho mas que eso. Siento que con este elemento puedo expresar tanto la luz y oscuridad de cualquier criatura sin tanta pretensión.

Texturas

Una vez seleccionado mi grupo de figuras principales, es el turno de las texturas. Este momento me suele traer recuerdos de la niñez. Aunque casi todo parte desde esos extraños y nostálgicos momentos. Cuando somos niños usualmente nos encanta encontrar formas en todos lados, en las paredes, en las nubes...Es justo eso lo que busco cuando exploro imágenes de referencia, la naturaleza siempre me ofrece justo lo necesario. Obviamente al final me gusta exagerar tales texturas, la idea es lograr formas o escenarios completamente diferentes a la imagen base.

Fondo | Luces

Nuevamente la naturaleza me ofrece la mejor opción para lograr ciertos efectos de luz, esta vez solo utilice una sola imagen, el resto se lo dejaría a los pinceles y modos de fusión.

Cuando finalmente tengo las posibles imágenes seleccionadas, comienza la etapa de editar y limpiar la imagen que considero principal y armar el rompecabezas. Por lo general, las texturas suele ser la última parte, durante el proceso inicial, estas imágenes son las últimas en mi lista de búsqueda. Como mencioné anteriormente, por alguna razón me gusta desaturar casi todas las fotos, me encanta partir de un lienzo con bases grises, probablemente porque así comencé en el arte tradicional, todo era grafito, me siento cómoda viendo todo en grises, al final se vuelve todo hasta filosófico. Trato de evitar el uso de filtros, no existe una razón concreta del porqué, simplemente no soy muy fan de estos y prefiero experimentar con texturas, desenfoques y fusiones. Otra obsesión mía cuando diseño es la simetría, no se por qué razón, pero constantemente necesito duplicar o multiplicar ciertos elementos para quedarme quieta. Me encanta el efecto sorpresa de este proceso pues nunca se como va a resultar, ahora que lo asimilo mejor... tiene ese aire y apariencia totémica que me encanta.
