A few days ago, while playing One Piece Card Game with some friends, the craziest one among them suggested:
- Hey, what if you made your own version of the card you use as your leader?
Here I pause to talk about my leader card.
My leader card in the One Piece card game is Silvers Rayleigh, a member of Gold D. Roger's crew. He has 5 lives and a power of 5000 points. He's a Slash type and red color, so only red cards can be in the deck. His deck can't include cards with a cost higher than 4, and his ability is to reveal two event cards from your hand once per turn to add 2000 power to a character in play.
Continuing the story; after thinking for a few seconds, I replied that I would, and later I found myself drawing the card, oblivious to the fate that awaited me. The next day I posted it in the One Piece TCG player community, just to show off my work, but in less than 5 minutes, my DM was flooded with requests for custom cards like mine. I've spent several days drawing nonstop, but I still can't keep up with the demand, and every ache in my fingers, wrists, and back reminds me of that fateful moment when my friend suggested:
- Hey, what if you made your own version of the card you use as your leader?
PS: Maybe, if I don't start hating the game after this, I'll show you some of the illustrations of the other cards I've done on commission with their owners' permission.

Hace unos días, mientras jugaba One Piece Card Game con unos amigos, al más loco de ellos, se le ocurrió decirme:
- Oye, y si haces tu propia versión de la carta que usas como líder?
Aquí hago una pausa para hablar de mi carta Líder.
Mi carta Líder en el juego de cartas de One Piece es Silvers Rayleigh, miembro de la tripulación de Gold D. Roger. Posee 5 vidas y un poder de 5000 puntos. Es de tipo Slash y de color Rojo, por lo que en el mazo solo pueden ir cartas de ese color. Tiene como regla que su mazo no puede jugar cartas de coste mayor a 4 y su habilidad es mostrar dos cartas de evento de la mano una vez por turno para sumar 2000 de poder a un personaje en juego.
Continuando con la historia; después de pensar unos segundos le respondí que lo haría y más tarde ya me encontraba dibujando la carta ignorando el fatídico destino que me esperaba.
Al día siguiente lo publiqué en la comunidad de jugadores de One Piece TCG, solo para presumir mi trabajo, pero en menos de 5 minutos, ya tenía el DM saturado con peticiones de cartas personalizadas como la mía.
He pasado varios días dibujando sin parar, pero aún no logro cubrir la demanda, y cada dolor en los dedos, muñecas y columna, le recuerda ese fatídico momento en el que a mí amigo se le ocurrió decirme:
- Oye, y si haces tu propia versión de la carta que usas como líder?
PD: Quizás, si después de salir de esta no comienzo a odiar el juego, les mostraré alguna de las ilustraciónes de las demás cartas que he hecho a pedido con autorización de sus Dueños.
