We're broke as smoke this holiday season, but that's cool. We went to Disneyland for Halloween, and we'll be in the economic HOLE for the next several months, but we got some super memories out of the deal! (And a couple of pictures and some pins!!! I'm all into pins, now, even though I can't afford to get them very often...)
This is day six of my typed.art experiment. When I typed a post that initial day, about a week ago, I hadn't intended to make it an ongoing thing, BUT I'm a freak, and I saw an inexpensive way to FORCE myself to write every day. Over the last 10? maybe 15 years (???), I have started "Forced Writing Projects" on numerous occasions, which usually amounted to me typing for a minimum amount of time each day for a few days, but these usually ended with me getting bored and quitting. I'm not sure if THIS project will go much longer than those other attempts that I've made at a FORCED WRITING PROJECT, but I like the ease withwhich I can type here and then post (to the TEZOS blockchain), publishing a record of my daily ramble. It's pretty cool.
That's the story of how / why I started using typed.art to create this project!
Meanwhile, it's almost Xmas, and our family tends to go CRAZY for the holidays, but we overspent this year, so we're broke. We HOPE that the world keeps spinning, even if our Xmas holiday is slim this time... I AM enjoying the decorations (which we bought in more flush times), and Mariah (my wife) is making sugar cookies and fudge RIGHT NOW, as I type this, and that's awesome. (I don't know if you've seen pictures of me or not, but I'm short, hairy, and OBVIOUSLY a fan of cookies. Put a red hat on my head, and I'm Santa Claus!) We are of the rare persuasion who enjoys Christmas music (everything except Mariah Carey), and I put Xmas tunes in our nighttime iTunes playlist way back in early November. (On the 26th, I'll switch back to Halloween music... That's my default. LONG LIVE MINISTRY - "EVERYDAY IS HALLOWEEN"!!!)
What I'm getting at with all these particulars is that we have a TRANSFORMATIVE POWER to control our personal mood through environmental sculpting. Make the world you live in interesting. Eat weird things. Listen to awesome tunes. Read cool ass books. Hang a million pieces of art and photos and other junk all over your walls. Set up freaky lighting. Color your hair your favorite hue. Write and draw and sing and play and MAKE existing in the world an awesome experience. (If you need help coming up with ideas, read the biographies of artists. Those folks are WEIRD!!! Lots of cool things to copy!!) Keep the universe INTERESTING!!! Sound good? It's easy to do, if you realize that you can do it!!!

I don't have anything specific to type at the moment, but because this is the start of a family holiday, I might not get another chance to write from now until AFTER the Xmas dinner that Mariah is cooking tomorrow. (We've invited some folks to eat food with us. That's a good present, right? Here! EAT FOOD!!!)
[ASIDE: I have learned that it really helps to read through these posts before minting to catch the errors. Even with a solid edit, I've still missed a few errors, here and there. I admit that, despite my education, I'm a terrible speller. I have issues, in particular, with homophones... My brain is broke.]
Today is Xmas Eve, which we celebrate with food, having a few extra peeps invade the house, games, laughing, and the opening of matching pajamas (which Mariah always gets for me, too, but which I usually don't put on. It's not that I'm ungrateful, but I'm physically mutated, so clothes look weird on me. I usually wear black...and for some reason, Mariah never buys black Xmas pajamas... Go figure!) We have a toddler now (my older daughter, Frankie's daughter, Felicity, is three) so there is some heightened excitement for tomorrow morning... Little kids like to open presents. We'll see how it goes... (If we're smart, we'll take some photos to help remember the day!)
Coming up in the next week is NEW YEARS, and for the 1st of January this year, I'm making a new manifesto and redirecting my work with a specific focus. The main point will be DOING. Living in the right goddam now, but more on that in the future... Are we cool? We're cool...

"DAY 8
Survived Xmas! Mariah fed a LOT of people today!!! As I mentioned in other posts, we didn't have much for presents for folks this year, but Mariah made a TON of goodies! Mashed AND scalloped, stuffing, turkey, spiral honey ham (Mariah and I dont usually eat mammals, but most of our family does), gravy, salad, hand-made rolls, apple pie, pecan pie, cheese cake, cornflake cookies, sugar cookies, peanut butter fudge, peppermint bark, and more... (We'll have some leftovers for a few days!!) Eating food in a group is an important ritual. Keeps the group bonded (and insures that nobody goes hungry!)
I'm not religious, personally, but I do appreciate the season for the total transformation of the environment involved in the celebration: lights and decorations and holiday clothing and special foods and music and movies and candles and activities... It's all great. I have tried, in the past, to invent NEW holidays for every month, so that we can ALWAYS have a radical transformation of the living space every month, (OR EVERY DAY, even), but I've had trouble getting any of my new celebratory scenarios to catch on... Maybe someday!!! (I'll keep trying.)
Tomorrow is NOT a holiday, which is interesting in and of itself. Will we try to "TAKE DOWN" the Xmas holiday decorations, or leave them up until NEW YEAR'S??? I don't know. (What I do know is that we got about $100.00 worth of coffee gift cards from various people, so I have a pretty good idea what we're having with breakfast tomorrow! Ha!)
As for as my PSYCHONAUTICAL ART PROJECT, I've got some #teztrash pieces to burn tomorrow. (I made a bunch of each of my trashart pieces for the TEZTRASH excitement [from Dec. 21, 2022], and at least a couple of each were snagged by folks during the event. The ones that nobody claimed will be sacrificed to the FIRE GODS!!!! Fun stuff!!!) I also need to write up my formal "BACK TO PRIMITIVITY" manifesto. This will be my new focus / direction for my creative works for the New Year. It's important to re-evaluate everything from time to time and make sure that my energy is being used to produce work that speaks to my personal values and intentions...
Requires some thought! I have until the 1st of January (2023) to come up with something...
