I have. I haven't. I might have. I might haven't. (You can sing along if you don't want to, but if you are inclined to sing along, please don't.) Moving on to visual arts...

"Visiting Spirit World (For the Weekend)" by Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)
[Crayon on black paper with digital embellishments and color enhancement.] Tomorrow, the wife and I leave for Seaside, Oregon, for the Oregon Ghost Con! We went last year and had a good time. This year will hopefully be equally entertaining! ---Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)

"It occurs to me, all of a sudden, that I'm BUSY. I'm not supposed to be busy; I'm supposed to be a lazy, old, broken-down wizard grandpa who spends every day coloring with his granddaughter. But now I've got Oregon Ghost Con starting tomorrow, got the group Postcard Art Show starting April 1st, have a half-dozen pieces of mail art that need to go out to the new exchange group I'm trying to put together, got a couple of concerts coming up, and I've still got all my regular daily stuff (babysitting, publishing new art to various chains, and my nightly Typed.art post and Tweeterz art share...)
Feels pretty good. (Idol handz and all that shit. Gotta keep my head engaged in nonsense or I'll start worrying about the "real world." Not fun!)

"Void Bunny" by Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)
[Digital drawing created in a no-longer-supported, free app on my phone.] This bunny has not only SEEN the void. He's been there and come back to tell the tale. (It's not a very long story, but it's pretty good, especially if you get him drunk before he tells it!) ---Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)

"The Blossom of Youth" by Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)
[Ultra fine point Sharpie on paper with digital embellishments and color.] Eventually the blossom of youth withers and falls off, if one lives long enough... (Careful pruning helps...) ---Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)

"DAY 97
Still babysitting at the moment, but as soon as the granddaughter's mom or dad get home, Mariah and I are heading to the beach!!! Not sure home much of the opening day of Ghost Con we're going to miss, but considering it starts in half-an-hour, and it takes more than an hour to drive there... We'll miss a bit. That's okay. We've got tomorrow, too. THRILLS!
(My head hurts. I should take some ibuprofen before we wheel out. The headache MIGHT be from not having any coffee for a couple of days. I'm not trying to quit, we've just been out of my kind of coffee, and I haven't bothered to go to the store to get more...)
I think we'll be back early enough tomorrow for me to type another "forced writing project" entry on my computer (I'm not taking it with us, cuz it's old and hates to travel), but if not, I'll do a quick post with my phone. I'm getting too close to 100 entries to stop now! BLAH! But why? Why am I still going???
Maybe one of the psychics at Ghost Con can tell me...
Later!

"DAY 98
We are home from the Ghost Con! We watched some okay speakers, on advertisement pretending to be a speaker, one terrible nonsense peddler (who was just as ridiculous as last year), and one witch who was pretty fun. I'm almost certain that we'll go next year, too... To be honest, it was just nice to get out of town and chill for a bit.... (Remember to do that from time to time!) That's it for this entry! Thanks for your patience and understanding... (Not that you have any choice in the matter! Ha!!!)

"Unintentionally Hidden Identity" by Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)
[Felt pen and gel pen on reclaimed cardboard with digital embellishments, color, and drawing.] Obscured by the background. (It happens, but "fame" and "fortune" and "adventure" and "excitement" a Jedi Fool seeks not these things. They just keep making shit... ---Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)

"Pick Your Own Nose" by Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)
[Felt pen on found paper with digital embellishments and color tweaking.] I've been told this story by my aunt a few times. When I was a toddler (back in the early 1970s,) my mom was trying to wipe my nose or something, and I yelled out, "Pick your own nose!" My aunt thought it was funny... Hopefully, this drawing is at LEAST as amusing as that story... ---Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)

"DAY 99
I have one more entry in this "forced writing project" (after this one) to bring me to 100 days of typing in a row. JEEBUS! (That seemed to go pretty fast. Don't let anyone tell you that life doesn't speed up as you get older!!!) (Did anybody try to tell you that? What kind of monster....???)
I've also been working on what I've been calling a BRAIN MALFUNCTION SALE through Objkt.com. I'm publishing thirteen different pieces in additions of thirteen and only charging ONE TEZ for each edition. The "brain malfunction" part is because I have been super-frazzled lately (to the point that I'm even thinking about going up to the higher dose of meds that the doctor suggested - but I don't want to lose ALL of my craziness, cuz I think that's where half the fun of my art comes from!) The "sale" is a bit of a misnomer, though, because the pricing is more of a DISCOUNT than a proper "sale." I've fully embraced my "ANTI-SELL OUT" philosophy, by intentionally OVER-PRICING my artwork so it doesn't sell, but some folks want to support my ridiculous efforts (or they get the joke and want to play along), thus I'm making a handful of reasonably priced pieces that people can grab, if they wanna.
I also spent about a year giving artwork AWAY (for something like a tenth of a penny worth of TEZ,) and a ton of those pieces are available on secondary for pocket-change! (I'm a fan of the punk ethos, so it's important that there's always stuff that collectors with "limited means" can afford. FUCK elitist art culture!!! I know lots of artists are HOPING to be included in a Sotheby's or Christie's auction, but I thought the whole point of this cryptoart thing was because the traditional art world is elitist, corrupt, and superstar obsessed! I thought we were building an alternative structure or system that would let EVERYONE publish art in a utopian, egalitarian way... Wasn't that what we were doing???
Anyway... I'm still making art, still having fun, and writing a lot more than I have in the last few years. All good things! More tomorrow!!!

"Space Bird" by Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)
[Digital drawing created with a free app on my old Kindle Fire 1st generation.] This drawing is from 2013. I went through an inevitable "neon" drawing phase, when I first discovered digital sketch programs, and this weird "space bird" was one of my early tablet creations! ---Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)

"DAY 100
Hooray! I did it. Yeah...
Moving on... I'm exhausted. I need to get some work done, but my BRAIN is shot...out of a canon...into a brick wall.
I'm hoping that tomorrow's post will be slightly more interesting, but just to keep the minimum amount of content in this post, here's a bad poem...
Ee ee oo oo ah
I am not a monkey, dude
As far as I know...
5 / 7 / 5!!! Counts as a haiku, even if there's no "content" to speak of! Neat... Later...

"DAY 101
In the beginning, there was nothing. (Should that be capitalized? "Nothing" ???) This was calm and comforting, but most of us agree that it was also dead boring. Then suddenly (like nanoseconds worth of suddenly) there was light and time and physicality and stuff like that. There is no concensus, as of yet, whether this occurrence (the creation of the current multiverse) was intentional or not. (I'm betting that someone - or someTHING, if it was one of the gas cloud deities - had an accident. That would explain a lot, wouldn't it?)
And now, look where we are... (Ain't that "Nothingness" seeming like a vacation compared to what we've been living through?)

As Blondie said, "I'm not living in the real world." Can't afford it. I'm going with an imaginary world, instead. A friendly world where all the monsters are furry and the murderers have hearts of gold and the thieves always give their spoils to the little folks that need it... Oh - and there are no humans to ruin anything. (Except Mariah. She can stay!)
Later!
