That's us, by the way. (If you read the title of this piece...) WE are the haunted critters...
Here's some haunted critter art...

"Pookahs" by Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)
[Felt pen on reclaimed cardboard with digital embellishments and colors.] To some, they are haunted creatures full of mischief and tricks. To OTHERS, they're invisible. But to folks like me, they're HEROES! Go BUNNY-FOLK! Go!!! According to Robert Anton Wilson, there is an entire field of UFOlogy that specializes in the connection between aliens and bunnies! OF COURSE THERE IS!!! ---Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)

"DAY 32
Long day... Long..... So long that I don't know how much writing I have in me tonight. I'm tired as a SMURF (again), so... Let's see how this goes...
I'm pretty happy with the artworks that I've been making lately. Even the bad ones are bad in an interesting way! Visual art, for me, is a synthesis of ideas, performance, technology, symbolism, semiotics, and color (or lack thereof...) And ghosts and monsters, I suppose. It's funny, though, because most people probably just see a badly colored, badly drawn cartoon with some contextless words floating around. Meaning is INTENTIONALLY avoided in favor of subtle suggestion. Let the viewer come up with their own meaning...
But the REAL point is to have fun. To entertain myself and those folks who might want to look at what I've drawn (or written or sang or whatever. Most of my creative expression is geared the same way.) DADAPUNKNEWWAVEARTBRUTFLUXUSSITUATIONISTCYBERPUNKPARANORMALPSYCHOLOGYEXPERIMENTS with glow-in-the-dark, plastic fangs...
K.O. I'm done for tonight! Time to read 1960s monster comics!!! GOOD NIGHT!

"DAY 33
Thirty-three days in a row... I'm probably more surprised than you are (especially considering that YOU don't exist! [Nothing personal...but I'm assuming I'm just talking to myself here]), but did I actually think I'd still be going for this long on this project wtihout missing a day? Nah... Most of my "forced writing projects" only tended to last for a few weeks before I get busy or bored and forget to keep up. But this time feels different; I've been writing (and drawing) in my paper journal most days, I'm keeping a reading journal (of all the stuff I've finished reading since 9 Nov. 2022), I've been posting to HIVE (via Peakd.com) a couple of times per week (and sharing these Hive posts to Tumblr, WordPress, and Ello), AND I've been trying to get at least one piece of artwork published to Objkt each day. None of those things are that big of a deal on their own, but taken TOGETHER, this ends up being a LOT OF WORK accumulated over the last month, + or - a few days!
That's the trick, I think. Little gestures. Build slowly and consistently. I'm not a genius artist or an eloquent poet or anything but a crusty old wizard dude, but if you write a million poems, one or two of them is bound to be excellent, and if you draw a million cartoons, at least a few of them are going to be funny or possibly even sublime. Therefore, my argument is that by just keeping going, just making shit all the time, eventually, something worthwhile is bound to appear, if only by luck or pure chance! I'm SUPER-lucky in that I have been amused by a number of the things that I've written and drawn over the last 40 years (give or take a few.) I KNOW I make a lot of junk, too, but that's how you get better. If you want to hit a home run, you're probably going to have to strike out a LOT before you figure out how to knock one out of the park...
I also try to educate myself. I read biographies of artists and history books about different cultural movements, and I watch "how to" videos on different techniques. I have hundreds of comics and books and graphical novels that demonstrate how to make FANTASTIC art (and some that are so BAD that I think they're brilliant)... If I'm interested in something, I consume everything I can related to it! AND....
And I practice and experiment and play with art and words EVERY SINGLE DAY. Not all of it ends up online. (I have boxes and boxes and boxes of old artwork. Some of it has been photographed and shared, some of it just hasn't ever been shared with anyone (besides Mariah. She sees most of what I do...but not all... There's just too much!)) Keepin' the dream alive... Like a burning flame... I'm.... I'm........
Having fun. That's what I'm doing. I'm a 50 year old little kid, playing with my crayons and comic books and having a great time!!!
Later!

[Felt pen on notebook page with digital embellishments and color.] Within the bunker, the echoes continued to vibrate for centuries... To enter the building is not only to be hit with the shockwaves but to also allow some of these to escape into the PHYSICAL world! ---Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)

"DAY 34
Kree kroo. Vergo gebba. Calto kree! (I don't know how to spell that, but the phonetics are spot on!) We have now all thought a spell to bring to the eyes and ears one who is trapped in LIMBO. (Not the video game...)
Eeeeeeee.... Ooooooooooo...
Too much to drink, again??? Yep. I'm all sloppy. But that's okay. I'm old and I'm still creating, despite my alcohol heaviness... The world is still spinning. The room....not spinning yet. (I ate a bunch of food, so hopefully I won't get to that part....
The computer screen does appear to be moving, though. That's interesting. (Ghost shows on the television, of course...)
Somebody stole the sunglasses that I owned out of our 2013 Ford Escape. (How desperate do you have to be to break into an Escape??? My wife works at an Eye Clinic, and she bought the sunglasses for me. According to her (and I have no reason to disbelieve her), the glasses were expensive.
Mariah wants to cut my beard off. I told her that if she cuts it, I'll collapse into a pile of burnt leaves. (I'm not certain if she believes me or not...)
Tired is a state of mind. Coolness is a state of ass. The money is probably in a safe place, but the people who need to spend it are in terrible danger. I've called people "La la" before, but there names were actually "Linda" and "Clarence."
Have you ever heard of Powell's Bookstore in Portland, Oregon? It's huge! My younger daughter (I have two, and older and a younger) is going to shoot people in an Air-Soft thing tomorrow, and she is wondering if Mariah and I want to go watch... Do I want to watch her either shoot a bunch of people or get shot by a bunch of people???? I'm not sure how I feel about that, but we don't do much with the younger kid anymore [since she stopped going to bowling tournaments], so we probably need to go watch...)
FLASH BOOM BANG! I've noticed that Objkt only displays a portion of the typed.art posts, if they end up going for too long... (Too long according to Objkt!) Therefore, if you want to read ALL of my rambling, you gotta go directly to my typed.art entry! Fascinating! Who knew???
Enough for tonight! Still drunk. Thanks for stopping by!!!

"DAY 35
Didn't get as much done as I wanted to get done today. That happens. Did family stuff, instead, which is good. We don't spend as much time with our younger daughter as we should...
But, being out of town made it quite difficult to work on posting art (considering I use my laptop to post and keep a record of the stuff that I upload, and I didn't have the laptop with me.) I did DRAW a few new things today, and that's always fun...
BRAIN DAMAGE. I seem to be suffering... (Might be cuz I didn't eat much today. No fuel in the tank!)
asdfjkl; The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog. asdfjkl;
Jeebus... So I wanted to make sure I got at least a little something posted today, cuz I don't wanna miss a day, but this ain't much for "content." Let's invent a new LOW-KU poem just to give this piece some juice!
Flabbergasted flea
Illuminating ice cream
Our frozen fingers!
Perfect form: 5 / 7 / 5 syllables. Perfectly illogical nonsense that means perfectly nothing! HOOORAY!!!
That's enough (he seemed to say...) LATER!
