Helo Dear Hivers, Hello Aliens! 👽
I would like to start my first post by wishing all Hivers a Happy New Year! And of course, I would like to start the year with new creativity in a soulful, vibe style. Drinking hot tea after a hectic weekend, I decided to pass the time writing music. And that's what I got .. Let's go! 🎄
YouTube:
I remembered my native street when I was a child and everything like that, in a word - childhood! District living its measured unhurried life. I had tracks before that I made under the same impressions and memories, it continues again, hehe. In my work, I often do something that I was inspired by memories, whether it be people, places, circumstances. In general, when I started working on this musical composition, I decided to start with piano chords, the idea was to do something emotional, lyrical and write a lubricated reese bass on the root notes of my piano, I like this combination, it makes a great wide space in compositions, it catches. Below I will show a screenshot of my piano chords, and also tell you how to process the piano so that it sounds atmospheric, background and at the same time does not get lost in the overall picture of the track.
PIANO CHORDS:
As you can see on the screenshot, my chords are slightly shifted from the beginning of the bar, this is done with hot keys - ALT+S thanks to this we get a richer chord, more lively. I also made the volume for some keystrokes, this gives it a natural keystroke, because we press the keys on the piano with different strengths, this is the main reason why we should do this. As for the Equalizer, I cut all low and high frequencies, this piano sounded in the range of 200 Hz - 5000 Hz, i.e. somewhere in the middle. Well, the icing on the cake is the delay processing for the breadth of the sound. As I said above, to all this I added a reese bass that I made in the Serum synthesizer, the simplest reese bass that I use in my tracks, it is done simply and sounded very good. Below is a screenshot of the parameters I used to delay my piano chords.
FX Delay
I also want to share with you the parameters in the Serum synthesizer that I use to create such a deep, soft bass, this is done very simply, literally by pressing four buttons and at the same time such a bass is perfect for any composition, use it if you need it!
REESE BASS / SERUM
I used only one oscillator with the "Basic Mg" parameter, I lowered it by 2 octaves, then added filter processing to it, finished it up to the desired softness of the sound with the CUT OFF knob parameter and made a detune on the oscillator. Great bass is ready. I just saw many times how musicians are looking for such a bass on the Internet and I have already been asked more than once, here it is, and no need for any pressets, everything is in two clicks.
There is not much to tell about the rhythmic pattern, I took percussions from different musical genres and made such a gentle beat out of them for this track, I also processed some elements with a reverb for atomospheric. As for the melody, I took a duduk sample from the KSHMR pack, and turned it into some kind of Western wind instrument by raising its pitch by 1200 cents, which is, as I understand it, two octaves, but this is not accurate. 😏 I also cut off unnecessary low frequencies from it and it turned out to be a surprisingly catchy sound, I liked it and decided to leave it, even though it is not the main melody, but just a little louder than the background sound.
DUDUK
Well, somehow by chance I was sorting through different acapellas and came across a children's vox phonk sample - Mafia, it seemed to me that it fits well into my composition and adds to it even more some kind of nostalgia or something like that. In general, I got the result that I planned in principle, a soft, light track, so that it would be rich and atmospheric, what else does my soul require in these moments, hehe. On this positive note, it's time to say goodbye, soon I will return with new music and new thoughts, hugged everyone. See you again!
Sincerely, Paul.
