Everyone will see him
He will return like a king in the clouds
Crowned in power and authority
The Lamb and the Lion will reign
Recently, on various social media and platforms, I've seen a large number of images depicting demons. This has caught my attention, and through my art, I decided to do something about it.
In this case, I decided to depict the ugliest of all demons: Satan, but as I believe he should be represented, defeated and trampled by Jesus Christ.
My inspiration for creating this work was certainly the Apocalypse (or Revelations). This is the last book of the Bible, in which it is prophesied that Jesus will come as king, clothed in power, to fight a great final battle (Armageddon), where Satan will be defeated and cast into the lake of fire.
The most observant will notice that behind Jesus is a white horse. This is not a coincidence or a merely aesthetic detail. In the Book of Revelation (chapter 19, verse 11), Jesus is described as riding a white horse.
Likewise, Jesus is depicted wearing armor worthy of a king because for that occasion (which will occur in the future), he will come with power and authority; he will come as the King of kings, he will come as the Lion of Judah.
Regarding the style, I believe that in a certain way I created a minimalist work, since it consists of few elements, avoiding saturation or overload, but where each element is so large and powerful that it doesn't need more to express itself.
Likewise, regarding the planes, it's quite simple: Jesus and heaven are in the upper plane, while Satan and the desolate and destroyed earth are in the lower plane. And here, the concept of heaven triumphing over darkness, good triumphing over evil, and hope and life triumphing over desolation is expressed.
But the symbolism of the work goes beyond what can be seen in the image, as the title "Holy is He Who Lives" also has a powerful meaning and refers to Jesus and a very decisive and important event in the founding of Christianity: the resurrection of our Lord, because without resurrection there would be no Christianity.
For Jesus demonstrated that he is capable of conquering death and that whoever follows him, death will not be able to reach him. Also, the text of the work's description has its meaning and I took it from a praise that I like a lot and that came to my mind when creating the work.
Because certainly at this time (which, as I said, will occur in the future), everyone will be able to see Jesus coming; everyone will see him defeat Satan; everyone will see him crowned and powerful.
And I'll pause to explain the last verse of the stanza "The Lamb and Lion Will Reign." Both terms "Lamb" and "Lion" refer to Jesus, and although they seem contradictory, they fit perfectly with his person.
Jesus is called the Lamb of God because he was the Anointed One (Messiah) to make the sacrifice that would seal a new covenant between God and humanity, in which the entire world could access salvation.
Jesus is also known as the Lion of Judah because one of the prophecies that described the birth of the Messiah indicated that he would be born in the house of King David, who belongs to the tribe of Judah.
Judah is one of the sons of Jacob (whom God would later name Israel), and I tell you, he was always represented with the symbol of the lion. Keeping in mind that the lion represents strength and courage, and remind me also of what I already mentioned about the final battle of Armageddon and Jesus' victory.
To create this piece, I used the artificial intelligence tool "Night Cafe" and tokenized it in our as a 1/1 unique edition. Here's the link for those who want to visit my gallery:
