Greetings, friends! I hope you're doing very well! Recently, I started accepting commissions—NSFW, SFW, Furry, you name it, haha. First of all, commissions are usually private, but in this case, my client told me I could show the process to the community, so your feedback will be very welcome. Years ago (2008 in Russia, 2009 in the rest of the world), a game called X-Blades was released. It's funny that my client asked for this commission by saying, "I want a drawing of a little-known game," and when he told me the name, I said, "Hey, I had that one, but it wasn't until a couple of years ago that I could actually play it." I had the game, but I didn't have a PC powerful enough to run it (yes, I know, I've always had a "toaster" for a PC). My client wants two drawings to put on T-shirts. You don't see many fanarts or anime-style drawings for this game, so I had to reinterpret the character in my own drawing style and colors. I took a little over a week for this and changed the canvas size I usually work with, since it's for printing and we don't want the image to look pixelated. Well, friends, I want to show you a bit of what this experience was like!

¡Saludos, amigos! ¡Espero que estén muy bien! Hace poco empecé a aceptar comisiones: NSFW, SFW, Furry, lo que sea, jaja. Antes que nada, las comisiones suelen ser privadas, pero en este caso mi cliente me dijo que podía mostrar el proceso en la comunidad, así que sus opiniones serán muy bien recibidas. Hace años (2008 en Rusia, 2009 en el resto del mundo) salió un juego llamado X-Blades. Es curioso que mi cliente me pidiera esta comisión de esta forma: "quiero un dibujo de un juego poco conocido", y cuando me dice el nombre le digo: "Oye, yo lo tenía, pero no fue hasta hace un par de años que pude jugarlo". Les cuento que yo lo tenía, pero no contaba con una PC lo suficientemente potente para correrlo (sí, sí, lo sé, siempre tuve una "tostadora" por PC). Mi cliente quiere dos dibujos para ponerlos en playeras. Sobre este juego no se ven muchos fanarts ni dibujos en estilo anime, así que tuve que reinterpretar al personaje en mi estilo de dibujo y colores. Para esto me tomé poco más de una semana y cambié el tamaño del lienzo con el que trabajo, ya que al ser para imprimir no queremos que la imagen quede pixelada. ¡Bien, amigos, les quiero mostrar un poco de lo que fue esta experiencia!

Process/Proceso
For this request, having played the game helped me a lot, since I found almost no fanart of Ayumi. Knowing the character is very useful when placing her in different poses. Well, there are two drawings; the first one is for the front of the T-shirt, so the character will have a frontal pose. During the first steps, I kept my client informed about the progress.
Para este pedido me ayudó muchísimo el haber jugado el juego, ya que casi no encontré fanarts de Ayumi; por lo mismo, conocer al personaje es útil al ponerla en otras poses. Bien, son dos dibujos: el primero debe ser para la parte frontal de la playera, por lo que el personaje tendrá una pose frontal. En los primeros pasos, fui informando de los avances a mi cliente.
This was the sketch; I wanted to include as many details as possible because at this point I needed my client's approval to move forward.
Este fue el boceto; quise darle todos los detalles posibles, pues en este punto necesitaba la aprobación de mi cliente para seguir adelante.
It's time for the line art. For this design, I used the same brush I usually use for the creatures in my other drawings. This step also took quite some time, as the main goal was to achieve a high level of detail.
Es momento de hacer el lineart. Para este diseño, usé el pincel que solía usar para las criaturas de mis otros dibujos. Este paso también llevó su tiempo; el objetivo principal es el detalle.
I added the base color, but in a different way; this means I added a skin-tone base, and over this layer, using the clipping mask option, I added the rest of the colors. I did this with all the layers except for the hair.
Agregamos el color base, pero de forma diferente; esto quiere decir que agregué una base color piel y, sobre esta capa, con la opción de recorte en grupo, agregué el resto de los colores. Así fue con todas las capas, menos con la del cabello.
A little WIP; I thought the character's shading looked very nice, so I wanted to show you how it's coming along.
Un pequeño WIP; me pareció muy bonita la sombra del personaje, así que quería mostrarles cómo se ve.
I calmly added details to the skin; this is important since the image will be seen on a T-shirt.
Con mucha calma, fui agregando detalles a la piel; es importante, ya que esta imagen será vista en una playera.
As I added details to the hair, armor, and the rest of the character, I kept talking with the client to discuss ideas on how to incorporate the X-Blades logo into the image, among other things. However, to show it here on Hive, I’ll leave a version with a simple background, similar to a sticker. This stage was the one that took the most time since I had to constantly correct certain details. Also, the power outages in my country don't exactly help much, to say the least.
A medida que fui agregando detalles al cabello, la armadura y el resto del personaje, fui hablando con el cliente para discutir ideas sobre cómo ponerle el logo de X-Blades a la imagen, entre otras cosas. Pero para mostrar aquí en Hive, dejaré una versión con un fondo simple parecido a un sticker. Esta etapa fue la que más tiempo se llevó, ya que constantemente debía corregir ciertos detalles. Además, los cortes de luz en mi país no ayudan mucho que digamos.
