Greetings dear friends! It is a pleasure to be sharing with you once again.
This time I bring you a digital illustration of Ippo Makunouchi, it's a version of how it would look like with my anime drawing style.
Well let's talk a little bit about who ippo is and what is his anime.
Hajime no Ippo or as it was known in my country "fighting spirit" is an anime something... very old, I remember that it was recommended to me many years ago like in 2006, almost at the same time that I started my career in the world of karate.
I must say that I liked the story of this anime very much. how they touch sensitive issues such as frustration and never give up all with a touch of comedy.
Good Good. about the characters Ippo is the main character of the story and I could say that he is one of my two favorite characters, the other one is 鷹村 守 Takamura Mamoru.
This anime has humor of yesteryear but it is still a gem of anime, although it is not so well known many of his followers worship him so to speak.
The anime was created by Jyoji Morikawa and published on September 27, 1988, currently you can watch the first season in Spanish on platforms like youtube. And also with subtitles.

En esta oportunidad les traigo una ilustracion digital de Ippo Makunouchi, es una versión de como se vería con mi estilo de dibujo anime.
Bien hablemos un poco de quien es ippo y cual es su anime.
Hajime no Ippo o como se conoció en mi pais "espíritu de lucha" es un anime algo... muy viejo, recuerdo que me lo recomendaron muchos años atrás como en el 2006. casi al mismo tiempo que inicie mi carrera en el mundo del karate.
debo decir que la historia de este anime me gusto muchísimo. el cómo tocan temas sensibles como la frustración y el nunca rendirse todo con un toque de comedia.
Bien Bien. sobre los personajes Ippo es el protagonista de la historia y podria decir que es uno de mis dos personajes favoritos, el otro es 鷹村 守 Takamura Mamoru.
Este anime tiene humor de antaño pero no deja de ser una joya del anime, aunque no es tan conocido muchos de sus seguidores le rendimos culto por asi decirlo.
El anime fue creador por Jyoji Morikawa y publicado el 27 de Septiembre de 1988, actualmente puedes ver la primera temporada al español en plataformas como youtube. Y también con subtítulos.

Redesign of the character
Well we will add the reference image in a corner, I want to make my own version but still being faithful to the design and spirit of the character. We start with the basic shape of the character trying to keep the ippo boxing guard, I took the liberty to make it a little more open just for aesthetic reasons.
Bien agregaremos la imagen de referencia en una esquina, quiero hacer mi propia versión pero seguir siendo fiel al diseño y espíritu del personaje. Iniciamos con la forma basica del personaje tratando de mantener la guardia de boxeo de ippo, me tomé la libertad de hacerla un poco más abierta solo por temas de estética
With the shape of the character we start the sketch, it's an anime style character from the 80's and 90's, but my style is a little more contemporary, so I will try to make a character as close as possible to the original without going out of my style.
Con la forma del personaje iniciamos el boceto, es un personaje de estilo animé de los años 80 y 90, pero mi estilo es un poco mas contemporáneo, asi que trataré de hacer un personaje lo mas parecido al original sin salir de mi estilo.
We continue adding and correcting details, the character is taking shape. this boxing guard is classic ippo, he uses it throughout the anime is his personal seal.
Continuamos agregando y corrigiendo detalles, el personaje va tomando forma. esta guardia de boxeo es clásica de ippo, la usa en todo el anime es su sello personal.
once the blue sketch is finished we start the final lines in black color. i used a layer with 100 opacity. i did this to add a little bit of the old anime style.
una vez terminado el boceto en color azul empezamos las lineas definitivas en color negro. use una capa con el 100 de opacidad. esto lo hice para agregar un poquito del estilo anime antiguo.
Here we can see the finished layer of lines, it is not so thick, because I don't usually use it like this, and with this ready we can start the next step.
Aqui podemos apreciar la capa de líneas terminada, no tiene un grosor tan grande, pues no suelo usarlo asi, ya con esto listo podemos empezar el siguiente paso.
Let's study a little bit the color palette of the original character, I took a reference of these points but I lowered the saturation of the colors, the style is nice but I like the colors less saturated.
Estudiemos un poco la paleta de colores del personaje original, tome una referencia de estos puntos pero le baje la saturación a los colores, el estilo es bonito pero me gustan mas los colores poco saturados.
We add all the color base on the character, in this step we use various layers.
Agregamos toda la base de color en el personaje, en este paso se usan varias capaz.
We lower the opacity of the line layer to make sure we are applying the color everywhere, this also helps me when creating the shadows and applying them.
Bajamos la opacidad de la capa de lineas para asegurarnos que estamos aplicando el color en todas partes, esto tambien me ayuda al momento de crear las sombras y aplicarlas.
We apply the solid shadows and then blend, I really like the way the skin looks when we do this.
Aplicamos las sombras sólidas para luego difuminar, me gusta mucho como quedan las piel haciendo esto.
At the moment of blurring we give direction to certain shadows, this also gives some texture to the drawing, this step is repeated in all areas of the body.
Al momento de difuminar damos dirección a ciertas sombras, esto también da cierta textura al dibujo, este paso se repite en todas las zonas del cuerpo.
To reinforce certain shadows we apply a darker tone with the airbrush tool.
Para reforzar ciertas sombras aplicamos un tono mas oscuro con la herramienta aerógrafo.
On the gloves, in addition to applying the shadows with the technique already shown, we apply a shimmer and texture effect.
En los guantes además de aplicar las sombras con la técnica ya mostrada, aplicamos un efecto de brillo y textura.
and yes. ippo's eyes are brown, in the anime you can't always appreciate this detail except in close up shots hehe.
y si. los ojos de ippo son marrón, en el anime no siempre se puede apreciar este detalle salvo en las tomas cerradas jeje.
Finished all the character, his hair, body and clothes, it's time to give him a background, I had in mind to make a simple background that makes allusion to a boxing ring full of public in the background. Nothing so detailed so that it doesn't detract attention to the main character.
Terminado todo el personaje, su cabello, cuerpo y ropa, es momento de darle un fondo, tenia a en mente hacer un fondo simple que haga alusión a un ring de boxeo lleno de público al fondo. nada tan detallado para que no le reste atención al personaje principal.
Finally, making use of capable lighting effect gives the spectator effect by taking pictures of the moment of the fight.
Finalmente, haciendo uso de capaz con efecto iluminación da el efecto espectador tomando fotografías del momento de la pelea.
Hajime no Ippo, is an anime that I recommend watching if you are a fan of sports or martial arts. it is very entertaining and leaves very beautiful and useful teachings for life.
this is not the last drawing I will do, I plan to do one of my other favorite character of the series Takamura!

Hajime no Ippo, es un anime que recomiendo ver si eres fanático de los deportes o artes marciales. es muy entretenido y deja enseñanzas muy bonitas y utiles para la vida.
este no es el último dibujo que hare tengo pensado hacer uno de mi otro personaje favorito de la serie Takamura!
