Fear is a reality that consumes us and torments the senses with which we can perceive reality, that is why letting ourselves be dominated by fear will affect the way we observe and feel our surroundings.

El miedo es una realidad que nos consume y atormenta los sentidos con los que podemos percibir la realidad, es por eso que dejarnos dominar por el miedo afectara la forma en la que observamos y sentimos nuestro entorno.

Although when the fear is irrational, simply fighting back becomes difficult... some time ago I commented that I am terrified of toads (including frogs and anything that resembles them) and I am a bit claustrophobic... so with this idea in my head I started to wander and I thought how it would feel to be in your own skin what you fear the most and see yourself locked in a space where you are forced to just face this situation... most likely I would end up tearing my head off... and with these ideas "Miedo" was born, a piece with a perception of me facing myself as my own fear.

Aunque cuando el miedo es irracional simplemente luchar se hace difícil… hace algún tiempo comente que le tengo pánico a los sapos (incluye ranas y cualquier cosa que se le parezca) y soy un poco claustrofóbica… así con esta idea en la cabeza me puse a divagar y pensé como se sentiría ser en tu propia piel aquello a lo que más temes y verte encerrada en un espacio donde te veas obligada a solo afrontar esta situación… lo más seguro es que terminara arrancando mi cabeza… y con estas ideas nace “Miedo” una pieza con una percepción de mi afrontándome como mi propio miedo.

I know surrealism is not supposed to give a specific interpretation but I think it's important to justify a little bit where those crazy ideas come from lol so I hope my explanation of why the work doesn't ruin your own interpretation of this anthropomorphic being and its context.

Sé que el surrealismo no debe de dar una interpretación específica pero creo que es importante justificar un poco de donde salen esas ideas locas lol así que espero que mi explicación del porqué de la obra no arruine su propia interpretación de este ser antropomorfo y su contexto.

The process to get to the final painting was making the sketch with the idea in pencil and then pass it with details and color in digital with Photoshop. I will leave you some images with the evolution and at the end a small video with the speed painting to observe more in detail each step of the process.

El proceso para llegar a la pintura final fue realizando el boceto con la idea en lápiz y luego pasarlo con detalles y color en digital con Photoshop. Les dejare algunas imágenes con la evolución y al final un pequeño video con el speed painting para observar más a detalle cada paso del proceso.

The piece was enhanced in Photoshop with a size of 3120x4160 px although the version you can see is smaller and weighs 1200x1600 px.

The Step by Step Gif was made by me in AdobePhotoshop CC2014.

The logo was designed by me in Adobe Illustrator CC 2015 and its animated version was made in After Effects CC 2017.
