I don't think people are leaving due to not making money. They already aren't earning money on web 2.

They're leaving because the content combined with the little bit of money they might make isn't enticing enough to keep them here. I just started out here and I'm sort of enjoying it (besides a lot of bugs), but if I was going to leave it would be over a lack of content. I'm going to keep searching and hopefully I'll get it to work well enough to quit browsing web 2.
