Hello, Alien Art Hive community! Honestly, I never thought I would be posting on this community because I never had the urge to draw alien stuff before and talk about things related to it. However, the weekly challenges by ArtPark which I have been participating for 13 weeks now have challenged me to take a chance so here's my first post on this community! :)
A new challenge was introduced on the 13th week: Emoji to OC
This has been a popular art challenge (I guess) but it was a first time for most of us in the humble ArtPark community. The three emoji presented on our first Emoji to OC were these:
š š½ š¶ļø
A maple leaf, alien, and sunglass.
Interesting, right? It's quite easy to create an art out of these combinations, honestly. I could have settled for a simple alien drawing but I'm quite a masochist and so I went for this drawing:
Mippra, The Pyra Mage
Everyone, I introduce to you my latest OC, Mippra!
(A short background about my OC!)
Mippra, nineteen years old, is the second daughter of the royal family in the Pyra Kingdom. Each member of the royal family have the power of fire within them but only have its full potential awaken through a ritual when they reach the age of eighteen. Each of their fire power are unique wherein Mippra's was fire magic and illusion. Mippra is an alien, actually the whole royal family is, but they turn into their human form when their powers aren't activated.
Now let's go deeper on the details of the drawing because I have to explain why I drew her this way. :)
As you can see, the parts on her face were disoriented and weird just like how an alien or monster are usually depicted. Her nose is on her chin and her mouth is under which stretches near the ends of her jaw. And she has a third eye below her usual pair of eyes. This extra eye opens when she activates her illusion technique.
Mippra's main power is fire and since she is a mage and illusionists, she can play around fire and even create whatever shape she could think of to attack the enemy. Her power comes out from her hands, as you can see the fire breathing underneath her skin.
The gold accessories on the bun of her hair is an indicator of her belonging to the royal class while the golden maple trinket symbolizes her special power. On the other hand, I don't think the sunglass suits her overall look but I can say that it also signifies the timeline they are in is on the modern days. Since her pair of eyes were normal and had no special capabilities compared to her third eye, it needs to be protected from other illusionists. The special sunglasses repels magic that would attack her sight.
Her maple-shaped butterfly-like wings resembles her mother's wings which glows when she activates her third eye.
Her dress is the most beautiful in the kingdom. It's a deep red colored sexy jumpsuit intricately sewn with tiny special beads which boosts her magic powers and also shines when hit by light.
Here's a comparison of her with and without the sunglasees in full image. Which do you think is better?
Drawing Process
Drawing Mippra was a huuuge challenge for me. Actually, I haven't finished drawing the details when I submitted it to ArtPark last Sunday due to my stomach not cooperating with me. Ugh!
This is my first time drawing a character with four arms (but three are only visible from this angle) and I'm glad I took some spare time to watch a short tutorial on how to draw hands. It made drawing Mippra's hands a bit easier even though it doesn't look perfect.
I did save a lot of drawing progress for this piece too see the progress little by little. If I am not mistaken, this took me about three days to complete.
