personally, I do not agree - this is too simplistic of a statement
But lets deal with the subject of creating 'fake newspapers' with AI. I actually stumbled on this capability by accident, using a newly introduced model on Nightcafe called GPT Image (there are several versions, from 1.5 to 2, Low, Medium and High). Myself, I used the GPT Image 2 Low because it is the most economical and yet very powerful model.

I sent this to my sister via WhatsApp, and she passed it on, but said that I had created this with AI. Then she told me that one of her 'less bright' friends thought that I worked for the newspaper and had written it for them. To which I could only comment with a facepalm🤦♀.
The very first 'News' I created (more by accident than by design) was to put my frustration about some silly Nightcafe 'Rules' for Challenges into words - I had in past conversations in a group called 'Fine Art' stated that the so called 'moderators' are like the Taliban.

You can sign up to a regular free account (I am on a first level Pro Account). Before, I just had a free account, and it worked pretty well for me also. But there are many pro models now that it does make sense to eventually go pro. But just for testing it out, a regular account works pretty well, some of those regular models are actually quite good, I am particularly impressed with Dreamshaper XL Lightning and better even is Z-Image Turbo. There are several more models available to free accounts, particularly the ones called 'Lightning' are quite good.

I had in years past come across quite a few 'fake diplomas' that pretend to be academic credentials. Next to 'Pay to Play Galleries' they are the scourge to be avoided. The summary of a paper about this spells it out
