I thought it would be fun to see how a few of my favorite artists would fair as fashion designers; both living and no longer with us. After seeing the beauty and accuracy of many AI designs, I thought I might put them to the test to determine if they would make it in the world of fashion.
One of my favorite artists growing up was Brian Froud, even though I didn't know it. I was always fascinated with the elaborate sets and animatronics of "The Dark Crystal" and his strange and wonderful "fairies". Since I have access to the "Midjourney" App, I thought I would see what a line of bohemian clothing in the style of the "Dark Crystal" would look like.
The results were draw-droppingly gorgeous.
Then I thought I would explore how futuristic fashions in the style of "The Dark Crystal" would appear. The results were perhaps even more beautiful.
Zdzisław Beksinski has long been one of my favorite artists, and it seems ai and ai enthusiasts utilize him often in design. IN fact, a good portions of my favorite ai art is directly inspired by him. I was wondering how he would do designing gothic and Cyber Punk clothings; and he did not disappoint me in the least.
I was particularly found of the imagined post-mortem fashion line Beksinski put together for Gucci with Gustav Klimt
It has always made me sad that the "Art Nouveau" style went out of fashion so quickly. I asked Mijourney AI what Futuristic Art Nouveau Fashion in Mucha's style might look like; and it gave me hope that it may have a future.
Giger also attempted to design some clothes, but the results were a bit horrific.
Hieronymus Bosch also made an effort, although his attempts are a bit too sad to share.
Perhaps he would do better at architecture....hmmm. That gives me another idea.
These are almost completely AI generated, but I did scan in my own art to use as reference images for many of these pieces.
Anyway what do you guys think, how did they do? Would you wear some of their designs?
