I have been enjoying Sorare.com these past years mainly playing in the Rare competitions. Each Week, I'm making an update post on what's happening in the ecosystem and how I'm doing personally.
Thins really have gotten to a point in Sorare that I have been just forgetting entering especially some limited lineup as the entire process these days having to do so many is just a massive hassle. Trading also has become something impossible and nobody really is willing to buy cards even at bottom prices.
They keep working and introduced a new game mode or at least a test of it which likely won't do anything at all for 99% of the player base including myself.
New Arena Mode
So from what I understand at first sight, Arena mode will replace Rivals with a sustainable reward model as nothing is created out of thin air. The idea is that you can enter a lineup by paying 10 Essence and you are then put up against 9 other places with a payout for the top 5 places based.
There are no player or collection bonuses and a claim that it's about skill.
A cap, no bonuses, every manager on equal terms, the Arena is a high-intensity competition designed to reward skill. A bold new way to prove you're the best!
However, from what I understand, you will be able to choose based on the cards you own so it will be a matter of picking the easy 5-0 matchups of a top team ah home against a weak team and stacking the best players. So it still only gives use case to a very small part of the cards. I could be wrong on this as I haven't tried it out yet but I doubt that I will get into this game mode as it likely only will increase the frustration with the game.
Playoffs Rare Results
Scoring 422 points was only good enough for a 200th place out of 2312 entries and gave 4 Rare Essence which is 20% of what is needed to craft a 1$ or less Tier 5 Card. So yeah, the rewards unless you land a top 3 spot have become totally negelectable.

Season 2024-2025 Owned Collection Value
It's fairly easy to track your personal earnings on the Sobase.Football website. We seem to be at a point again where the rewards don't fully compensate for the drop in card values over time as more get printed and dumped on the market.
I am no longer putting outside funds into Sorare at this point and will track my total account value from here on out weekly. It's been pretty much a race to the bottom as sorare isn't able to come up with dynamics where card prices hold their value.

Conclusion
The enjoyment that I'm getting from Sorare surely has gone down a lot as they fail to fix some of the core issues. If I win something or manage to break even I'm already a happy player. Given the continued inflation, this is a game and not an investment.
