Some time ago I decided to play around with my camera and lightbox, a super-cheap thing my partner bought me a little while ago that has provided me many hours of enjoyment - sometimes it's the little things. Anyway, today the camera stayed in the bag and I decided to go through a bunch of photos I have on my computer which was enjoyable...until I decided to see what certain images might look like in black and white and then...it became way more enjoyable!
Below are a few photos of a bottle of Bvlgari BLV which I changed to black and white as I thought they might look ok and I believe they actually do...the same but different - isn't it interesting how the brain shifts based on the lack of, or addition of, colour?
Below are the originals in colour laid out in a collage to save space...there's nothing worse than having to scroll through loads of pictures in my opinion. Personally, I like the blue ones but in the black and white ones there's less to deceive the eye, less to distract the mind, and one can focus on the lines and shapes of the bottle, the bubble of fluid in the case of the image directly above, and the reflections, the light and shade, in the chrome cap and bottle top.
Anyway, that's it for now...Just a few photos with the colour taken out of them. I'm no photographer, I keep beating that drum for good reason, I just don't have enough interest in it to work at getting good at it, but I enjoy taking photos and taking the colour out of these images allowed me to extend that enjoyment a little further and in a different direction. I don't use editing tools like Photoshop on my photos, I don't know how and have no inclination, but taking the colour out of some photos today was fun.
