Over my posts about the Brisbane Broncos' 2026 season I've made mention of the mounting list of injuries (and other things) sidelining key players. Their win-loss record isn't great and they sit just outside the eight (eight go through to the finals after the preliminary rounds) after seven games but with so many stalwarts out including pivotal play-makers the season is in jeopardy.
A win is a win and the "skinny win" over Wests Tigers (21-20) last round helped but with a growing list of unavailable players I'm worried for the future of this season.
Here's a list of their unavailable players to date
- Reece Walsh - Fractured cheekbone
- Payne Haas - Grade 3 MCL
- Ben Hunt - Grade 3 MCL
- Kotoni Staggs - Plantar fascia strain
- Billy Walters - ACL
- Corey Jensen - Pulmonary embolism
- Cory Paix - Concussion
- Grant Anderson - Grade 3 MCL
- Jesse Arthurs - Interosseous membrane tear
- Aublix Tawha - Broken eye socket
- Delouise Hoeter - Broken leg
- Blake Moxer - Broken jaw
- Patrick Carrigan - Suspension (Careless high tackle)
- Ben Te Kura - NFL training camp USA
The boys are hanging in there, the outfit is not known for giving up, and the chaps that take the field give a lot each week which has helped them (barely) keep their heads above water as far as the ladder goes but they can hardly afford many (or any) more injuries I reckon.
