Humans can be quite destructive with short and long term effects the result. Much of the time it's done under the guise of progress such as the systematic destruction of our environment for financial gain - the oceans and forests - but a lot of time there's no real or good reason for destructive behaviour.
People can be destructive of their own lives as well with such things as relationships, mental and physical health, education, financial security present and future, general liveability and wellbeing high on the list along with other things as well. I don't know why people do it, why they don't see their attitudes and behaviours as destructive, and why they don't put that energy into better and more productive pursuits...but a lot of the time they do not.
I wonder if you've ever been that person - I think many of us have at one point in life - and how it affected you. Did it shred your life like the tyre in the image, did you recognise it and make necessary changes and how did you and those around you deal with it? Has the destruction endured, the negative result, and if not why?
