"Most people work just hard enough not to get fired and get paid just enough money not to quit." - George Carlin
You're plodding along nicely just minding your own business and getting your job done and then, BAM you're fucken fired!
Has this happened to you?
Unfortunately it's a fact of life for most people and being fired, laid off or made redundant happens for many reasons, warranted and some unwarranted. People get fired unjustly all the time and a business downturn is often responsible for lay-offs and redundancies making people the collateral damage of what others up the chain have done.
It's rarely pleasant but it can often work to one's advantage.
We tend to get set in our ways and with jobs simply keep going back because that's what we've always done. Getting fired can open new doors by having been pushed out of one's current situation. It's not always a bad thing and I know many people who have actually turned it into a great advantage and found themselves in a better situation in their professional life and personal also.
Have you been fired, laid off or made redundant?
If you would like to comment about your own experiences or from the perspective of a family member or friend do so below. Talk about why you were fired and how it affected you, was negative or positive, or maybe explain how and why you were unfairly dismissed from a job. It's your choice what you want to comment about, so if you're inclined to comment you know what to do below.
