I'm going to confess right here and now, doing household chores isn't something I enjoy.
It can't be retracted now.
That doesn't mean I don't do them though and certainly doesn't mean I'm not good at doing household chores...although me and bed-making don't get along very well at all. I clean bathrooms though and I have to say I'm bloody good at that! (Only my own though, I'm not the fucken bathroom cleaning fairy.)
I enjoy living in a tidy and clean home and because I'm fairly structured in my thinking there's a place for everything and everything needs to be right there in its place...mostly. I also don't like clutter and have a reasonably minimalistic approach to my home because clutter drives me bonkers. Having said that, there's far too many cushions in my house...I blame my girlfriend.
My girlfriend and I tidy and do chores in small ways more often rather than letting things pile up and having to spend a whole day on it and we have a few habits that help our house stay looking clean and tidy for longer. We don't obsess about it, but having little habits like putting something back in it's place when done with it, cleaning up straight after dinner, running the cordless vacuum over the floor in a room per day and other such things help make the time we have work better.
What's your approach to house chores?
Do you save it up and spend a whole day doing it, use methods to keep things in a good state so cleaning days are shorter? Do you live like a pig and don't care? Do you share chores with your partner or pay a cleaner? If you want to comment on the topic do so below in the comments section.
