Working towards being better seems like the right thing to do; attaining it is not always a given though. People will have, and do have, varying opinions of me and that's ok - they usually don't matter - those opinions from people that actually know me may actually be valid.
It's not always possible to be the best though, is "best" even attainable?; it's always possible to try to be though...and that's what I seek. Continual improvement.
There's a concept I learned which defines my process which sort of goes...
Do the best you can do with what you know and then when you know more do better.
It's something I've put a lot of effort into and whilst I've not reached the top, can't say I've attained "my best", and certainly know there's a lot of room for improvement, I can unequivocally say that having this ethos has helped me achieve far more than not having it.
I attained a huge goal in 2025, something I have worked towards for many years, and it felt good to finally reach it...and then I re-set the goal and started all over again because failing to improve continually is, in my opinion, not acceptable.
Will I ever reach the top? No, because I always reevaluate and re-set my goals; what is the "top" anyway?
What about you?
Have you attained a significant goal or worked with what you know to do your best? Have you sought to learn, grow and develop along the way so you were better-placed in the future and have you re-set your goals once again and started over?
Do you feel you've reached the top, your limit, and have simply given up on further growth, development and achievement?
Tell me about it.
