I used to have a really crappy handwriting when I was younger. I used to envy my mom and my sister because they have really pretty and neat penmanship.
Over time, and because of going through engineering classes in college (we had an engineering lettering class), I found my groove in writing more legibly!
I'm weird in a way. The paper has to be thick enough or needs to have a cardboard or multi paper backing for me to write better. I'm also very particular with the type of ball point tips I use! I also need to be standing or seating comfortable in order for me to write decently!
Obviously, the slower I write, the better my handwriting will look but here's two versions of how my writing looks like!
I first encountered this quote from the basketball movie that Samuel L. Jackson starred in. It's titled Coach Carter.
I looked it up and realized the movie had a shortened version of the poem and the poem was originally written by Marianne Williamson.
Whenever I remember the quote written above, I immediately think about the latter lines of the poem:
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There's nothing enlightened about shrinking
So that other people won't feel insecure around you
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
and
It's not just in some of us it's in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine,
We unconsciously give other people permission to do the same
As we are liberated from our own fear,
Our presence automatically liberates others
Do not be afraid to show your true self to the world!
