The foundation of human society is built on truth, honesty and mutual trust. When these core values start to weaken the entire society is affected. In today's era the spread of lying has become a serious problem. People abandon the truth even for small gains even if they have to bear the loss later. Lying may benefit a person temporarily but in the long run it destroys trust and weakens a person's character.
In the current era social media and a fast paced life have also worsened this problem. People twist and distort reality to make their lives look better to others. Sometimes this habit grows so much that a person even forgets how to distinguish between truth and lies. The use of lying is also becoming common in various fields of business, education and daily life which is harmful not only to the individual but to the entire society.
One major reason for the spread of lying is selfishness and the desire to gain immediate benefit. When a person only thinks about their own interest they ignore the truth. In addition lack of upbringing and the decline of moral values also worsen this problem. If children aren't taught the habit of telling the truth from childhood they easily resort to lying when they grow up.
We should adopt truthfulness in our lives and try to avoid lying. Parents and teachers should properly guide the new generation and teach them the importance of truth. To promote honesty in society every individual has to play their part. Because a truthful person is not only respectable himself but also plays an important role in making the whole society better.
The spread of lying is a problem that cannot be ignored. If we want a strong and prosperous society we have to make truthfulness a part of our lives and stay away from lying as much as possible.
